Grain drying technique?

Do any of y'all have tried and true methods of drying your grains... specifically oats? I spread mine as thin as I can on a fold out table and move them around every 30 min until they're dry enough which can take awhile. I thought about building a screen to lay them on but before that I thought I'd ask the shroomery senseis

So I experimented with this with rye berries. If you spread them out flat they cool off faster than they can bake themselves dry. If you keep them in the strainer in a big pile the interior heat of the pile bakes them dry from staying warm. So let them sit in the strainer in a pile for 30mins then dump them into a bucket and cement mixer roll the bucket tilted at you to redistribute heat and moisture. Then dump them back into the strainer to sit until dry about another 15mins.

after boiling, dump everything into a bucket through a strainer and let grain sit above the steamy water

I just came across this and thought about trying it. I make a lot at once and collanders don't dry it very well nor do they hold enough.
I'll update as soon as I try it, but looks like a great idea lol

Big ass window screen from the hardware store. Set over the sink, dump grain, wait for steam. Does double-duty at harvest time if the dehydrator isn't ready yet.
Optional #1: Use salad spinner to get excess water off after cooling, then throw the grains back on the screen. Optional #2: Find a tote that a window fan fits in and situate the screen on top. TBH, the fan is kinda lousy because of the shape so I just let them sit overnight now and air dry.
Still searching for better methods myself.

You'll want something with edges too it.
Try home Depot lumber, metal window screen and Staples.

I saw that too! I was curious just how big those holes are, would be a shame if grain could slip right through.

Doing that gets your grain fully dried? Seems really fast to me. I always let them sit for about 30-45 min in the colanders and transfer somewhere to spread them out further, they're still pretty wet at that stage... maybe that extra toss around and heat redistribution is doing the trick?

For me just doing 4, 6 quart bags of oats takes up one long beer pong table. I was looking into a bakers rack. I’d like to make a wooden frame with screen door wire and have them dry that way. Just a thought. I’ll be attempting this after my run.
