Dear Shroomerites,

I have some tubs with cube mycelium from spores that grew all over my CVG casing layer. Its almost fully white and fluffy and pins way slower than my tubs with mycelium from clones. Would it be a good idea to cover up (=patching?) the myc with a thin layer of CVG? Or how would you go about it? Just be patient?

Could you clarify? That tub looks like it has some bad bacteria or even mold but are you saying you took spores from another tub and nocced grain and then spawn it? Or that this tub got covered in spores and started growing more mycelium? My understanding is that coir isn’t nutritious enough to germinate spores.

No, I obtained this myc from a trusted friend who germinated them from spores on agar. I transferred a few times and then -> rye -> CVG shoebox (the ones in the pic).

I covered the myc/CVG mix with a layer of CVG only, and it almost fully colonized the top layer. My other tubs which I started from a clone do not overgrow totally the CVG top layer and already fruited.
These tubs now starting to pin at the few spots where it isnt fully colonized. I was wondering if it would be wise to cover the myc with a thin layer of CVG, or would it just grow over that too? Any experience/recommendations with this?

Thanks yall for your input.

If you want to turn the cinema visuals of a trip down take opiates.  They just dont mix imho.

The best thing ive found is NOZ as the DMT like rush you get from a balloon is so beautiful u enjoy being in that place and wehen the trip begins again as soon as the Nitros oxide is out of the blood stream its lovely and smooth.  Meditate before and set your trip place up like a temple.  Psychedelics appreciate being appropriated as they powerful tools to other dimensions of thought and ....well other dimentions.  Once you do this once you will be familiar and look forward to it.....

I'm with you. I take kratom all day everyday to keep me off the junk and keep.my pain managed. I will go through withdrawal for a few days before I trip cause kratom effects the trip a lot. My go-to for no nausea tripping is dose on an empty stomach first meal of the day preferably. But eat something as people have said above. I like to make a small little bit of soup just like miso soup or chicken noodle soup whatever. Throw back my tea then eat my lunch. And then have some fruit and water on hand. A good orange on a great trip is a special experience all shroomers should have.

Bph you should try a grapefruit during your trips. It can be tough to find good ones but they are so worth it. Peel it like an orange. You get better at this with practice, I can get the meat out of a grapefruit while leaving the peel almost totally intact

Once you get to the inside sections you want to peel that inner skin off as well so you just have perfect pink juicy cells...ahhh there’s no better feeling during a trip then getting a mouth full of sweet grapefruit, unless you have a lady friend that likes to get down while tripping, also a beautiful time.

Stone potency is around 1/3 of a cubensis fruit and Tampanensis fruits are a little over 1.5 the potency of cubensis fruits if the journals ive read are correct. I’m also pretty sure that Tampanensis and Mexicana are the same species while galindoi is a misnomer, and that has been confirmed by Alan Rockefeller. At least I’m mostly sure of that. I’ve also had a few tonight so that last sentences may inaccurate :rofl2:

Dry sclerotia are a 1/3 the potency of dry cubes, but wet sclerotia are about twice
as potent as fresh cubes. 15g fresh sclerotia is an awesome ride

I was just looking at this this thread, and was wondering.... does this mean all APE swabs are useless and won't grow APE? So the only option is spore of works?

I have a PE swab coming and am wondering how potency compares to APE, I've read that APE is stronger.

Man the one thing I miss about living in California is the fruit.

I used to have grapefruit trees that put out a trash bag full every day it was insane.

Blood oranges are my all time favorite though, so good right off the tree.

The good old days of tripping in citrus orchards.

You turning me on bro. Trash bag full of ripe grapefruit? I’d be in heaven. I’m in MD and have to search through piles of unripened GF to find 3-4 good ones.

They truly do amp up the experience of a trip. I don’t think it has anything to do with vitamin C they just seem to go so well together. Your taste buds are seriously in tune and you can tell that eating fruit is something your supposed to be doing while in that state.

Stones are from a cube variety of that is known as sclerotia.
They are more difficult to fruit but produce active “stones” in the grains and substrate.

Typo?

Other than “of” being in there. No.
LINK

Have we become that petty on an adult forum as to which we call out “Typo?”

The stones have the same effect as standard cubes.
I would not recommend dehydrating them, though. Just make some nice chocolates with them.

Really? Lmao.
Ok I guess I'm petty.
Also what's with the link something about new siding for my house or something?

Yea didn't want to be a dick really a TC should know better though there is no cube variety named sclerotia and sclerotia is not the same potency wise as cubensis. Then he wants to call me petty for trying to point it out without being a dick instead of calling him out.

Well, I think the petty part was originally because he thought you were talking about the word “of” accidentally being in there, not that you were trying to give him a chance to reword his response.  All a misunderstanding.

they started fruiting when the shoeboxes had their lids on, and they're pointing to the one side where they got a little light. they now have ambient light so hopefully the new pins will come in right

The light for these comes from a window a ways away, so the shrooms seem to lean toward the light. So I just rotate the shoeboxes after misting.

From A to B
how would you get there?

32 quart jars of spawn is the end goal, using a Presto 23qt and SAB

I just want to take in your guys way of going about it to give me more pathways to mull over in my constant daydreaming of my own process.

I can really only noc up 8 jars at a time in the SAB.

options:
  • LC -> 8qts repeat 4x
  • A2G Pint masters -> G2G 1:4 8x
  • LI to Pint master -> G2G 1:4 8x
  • LI to quarts using 7 plates to make 7 LI 1:5

not a better, best question as all I would guess have their pros and cons. Just wanna hear your input

Thanks Cron
Thats been my go to lately using half pint jars with roughly 150ml of LC and I noc 8 quarts with each half pint lc

I just moved up to full size monos with 4qts spawn each and trying to find the balance of quickest and safest methods to get the amount of spawn i need to run 8 tubs

What I want to eventually happen is to do LC to bags
And only have to make the 8 bags

 I'd really like to sort it out myself.
It seems, to this noob, the less one takes out of a plate, the better.
So that seems like after a decent isolation is reached, one piece to either grain
or LC keeps the focus.
Then there's either G2G or LC.
So then G2G relies on that one jar and LC relies on that one Jar, but it can be tested on agar.
But I'm just a noob and I hope you get more replies...
