Can you grow cubensis without manure based substrate?

Someone told me I could just use coco coir and vermeculite and bring it to a boil, and not use manure. The reason I'm asking is because I do not have a pressure cooker and this would save me time and money if I could skip the pasteurization process

Yup, that is right. I use a cooler, just pour boiling water in with my coir block and let it sit for an hour or so. Squeeze it out by hand to get field capacity then add verm.

The coir vermiculite is your substrate. This needs to be colonised with spawn. How are you going to sterilise the grain jars used for spawn without a PC? Coir does not need to be sterilised, only partially pasteurised, which can be domes a s northerner says with the bucket boiling water technique.

You dont use a pressure cooker for your substrates even if your using manure. your still going to want a pc unless you just want to play around with pf cakes.

Any of the 100% coir teks are easier than that.
OP, there's a sticky at that top of Mush Cult forum that has all the info you need. Suggest reading up first:

With coir it doesn’t need any treating, just add water and go.
With no pc you’ll have to make a bunch of brf cakes to shred if you’re going to do bulk.
Still super easy but a pc is kinda what a lot of this stuff revolves around.
