Watermelon mon, are you a fan of David Lynch films? I am and you seem like the kind of guy that might like them as well.

That's really cool that you don't watch movies much
Here's a link to a recent David Lynch movie thread with some descriptions of his movies. If you aren't familiar with them, I suggest not watching the most recent one and maybe start with Blue Velvet and then The Lost Highway, if you want something longer, start the Twim Peaks series (just don't start with the Twin Peaks movie if you are going to watch the series because the movie is a pre-quel and would totally screw up the TV series).
Regardless of which you pick, the soundtracks to most of his movies are awesome (except Eraserhead)

Ghostbusters (original) Eraserhead Sante Sangre The Last Circus Thunderball all the "Halloween" and "Friday 13th" movies Abe Lincoln:Vampire Hunter Thor (the one with the elves dimension) The Toxic Avenger (if you can find an original uncut version it's best) ...there's so many!

Sacnners = best exploding head scenes, EVER! Tom Savinni is a master at movie make up, back then anyway. Buechellor, savinini, screaming mad george, and so on. I used to collect Fangorias. I still have a few somewhere...

Pretty much anything Cronenenberg from around the 70s and 80s is awesome. My favorite one is Videodrome.
My uncle worked on a couple Cronenberg movies as a carpenter, The Fly and Dead Ringers.

I saw a talk by David Cronenberg once. He talked quite a bit about "The Brood", which I hadn't seen yet at that point. Great example of his "body horror" concept.

I saw Midsommar tripping and it really didn't phase me too much
Enter the Void though, several years back I watched on a heavy dose (for me anyway), and yes I bit off more than I could chew with that one. Yikes. I still have the blu-ray disc in my closet and the last time I saw it I told myself I would never be entering the void again...
Speaking of Enter the Void. Paz De La Huerta. Not a good sign when your first reply is "I am perfectly sane".
I wish her the best though

Joe Spinell's Maniac is amazing. That 12 gauge scene with Savini is pure gold; apparently that scene made Gene Siskel walk out of the theater lol

When I do get to one, it is pretty fun... provided it's a quality movie of course
