Yes good point I let myself get sucked in sometimes...
Anyway
I’ve got quite a few things on the go, king oysters pinning in a martha, white oysters close behind. Three pesa shoeboxes about to flush. 4 atl jars. RW’s colonising jars, Toc and pesa clones colonising jars. Ape, cyan, alleni, shiitake and reishi on agar and a partridge in a pair tree.
Also I just found this little neglected microwave meal tub thing with some blue oysters that I thought had contamed ages ago pinning good style

I'm doing PE in Muda bottles, I'm 7 days and 3 days into fruiting. I hope they don't take ages to fruit. I have clones and MS. That pin I've cloned came pretty fast on it's PF puck.
I think of putting chicken manure into my substrate again, that monster Mazatapec in my sig (it's a pint bottle, not a cake, 2nd flush, over 70g wet) had a mix of 1:1 rye:coir and 5% chicken manure.

Funny you mentioned that -- there's a chicken manure compost here in the US called Charlies Compost I was thinking about using in small amounts to supplement some straw pellets I've also been experimenting with... The ingredients are "chicken manure, cornstalks, straw, forest products, hay, clay, and beneficial microbe inoculants. The ingredients are composted in windrows for 8-12 weeks, until the compost is fully finished." Thoughts?

this is true but for those amazon 8pks you can plug all 8 into one plug no problem. I havent noticed a difference and I have 2 sets of 4'ers each with 1 plug. I love those things!!!

Did you use the connector things to bridge different sections of LED together for each shelf? And then only need 1 plug per unit ?
I bought rolls of LED lights a few months back but haven't got around to setting my shelves up yet, never really looked at how exactly I was going to do it but I think that my basic idea was to just use the connector things, I bought some splitter/connector pieces for bridging separate lengths of LED
For now I'm using CFL lamps hanging off my shelves or positioned where I can fit them but its kind of a pain in the ass and have multiple lights pershelf
Yeah I used the connector pieces to connect them but you cannot have all the rolls of leds on one power supply cause the light will get weaker. For the 3 shelf units, I bought 6 led kits so every 2 shelf has it’s own power supply. The connector pieces are awfully fiddly and can cause the light to be flickering, so I might reinforce with some solder. If you really want to use only one power supply, you can connect the led strips in parallel, in series they just get weaker, but for me it is really not an issue to have 6 adapters plugged into the wall.

Lol. Y'all wild. I'm just going to plant my garden. Grow my shrooms. And keep my kids healthy. The rest is in Gods hands. Or the simulation masters. Or whatever you believe in. All we can do is help each other and hope for the best. No need to start picking sides we are all in this together from Wu Han to Wisconsin.

The pellets can be used for anything-- I've been playing around with some small pints/ half-pints to see how it does. Once re-hydrated and mixed in with verm it ends up light and airy--
Great for huuuuge surface area and fast colonization-- and it's also great as an additive to other subs.

I thought about just putting a couple spoons of that chicken compost mix into the water I soak grains/straw with to see how that does-- I did a run of some straw pellet/verm jars that way about a month ago but I contammed them all to hell-- I have since upgraded my SAB game substantially, and identified my most likely mistakes/vectors. The trickiest part so far is keeping it properly moist-- it dries out reasonably quick, but I think I've addressed it with the 40% fine verm added, we'll see.
I'm also playing with some liquid humic/fulvic acid, and also a organic surfactant water-wetting agent that's made of the saponins from an extract of the yucca plant-- it's a plant based version of the stuff you put in water to make it soak into soil better and counteracts hydrophobic surfaces. I also use it on my plants as a way to enhance foliar feeding and water/soil penetration--
I have some Christmas Cactus I was given as a gift planted in coir, and watering it was a pain because the fluid wouldn't penetrate the surface without babysitting it for 10 minutes a few drips at a time until it re-moistened sufficiently, but with wetting agent added to the water, that shit soaks in like rain in a desert for several waterings after one application. It occurred to me that it might be a good thing to add to mycology spawn and subs for the same benefits of more effective water penetration.
Again, I'm just playing around for fun on the spawn and sub additives-- and I'm using very low concentrations in the soak water, but I would like to see if it aids in hydration and nutrient transmission -- especially looking at re-hydrating between flushes, as it may make that process faster/more efficient. That's the hypothesis anyway
If I find success with it this summer I'll make a thread to discuss and share what I learn. I just love working with mushrooms again after a long time away because of work travel all over the country

Funny, was just reading about yucca last night, mainly how to eat it because it's all over my place and impossible to kill. It has tons of uses and the flowers are allegedly delicious.

I remember as a kid going on this hike with an Indian guy explaining what all the plants were used for.
The two I’ll always remember are these little fuzzy seeds that taste like sour oranges they said they used on long trips to help stretch water, and the other was yucca. He showed us how you can use your finger nails to shred the leave into strings then braid them into this super strong rope. And the sharp tips were used for tattoos lol.
