Found these guys in zoysia lawn while on a walk this morning. No bruising when picked. My pics did not come out well. Getting a spore print. Any ideas? Thanks!

Man, I actually eat those! I hope to find some this year! I haven't found any in several years, sadly.

Naw man, they are edible. I eat them when I find them. They say they aren't recommended, but I have never suffered any ill effects. I alos find them to be quite tasty, and never bitter. Here is a quote thta I found about them.
Lacrymaria lacrymabunda) has got to have one of the best common names I’ve heard of even though it has a negative vibe about it. It sounds like a toadstool you should avoid at all costs, but never fear, this mushroom is not poisonous but is in fact edible, though unfortunately a little bitter.

One more quote, and I would never eat anything that I could possibly die from or anything that I'm not 100 percent on it's identification.
Lacrymaria lacrymabunda is a species of fungus in the family Psathyrellaceae. It is found in North America, Central America, Europe, northern Asia, and New Zealand, where it grows on disturbed ground in woodland, gardens, and parks. Although it is sometimes listed as an edible species, some individuals report developing stomach upset after eating it.[1]

Just because they aren't morels or oysters doesn't mean that they can't be good. I eat all kinds of obscure edible mushrooms.

Try them man! They are awesome, sauteed in butter. I even ate some raw out on a hike, and they taste exactly like store bought mushrooms.

I know they "can" be but I pass em up they are not something I would go out my way to eat unless in fact I was starving...And it has history of causing stomach upsets

Well, I live in a place that offers hardly any choice edibles, no matter how hard, or where I look, so I get stuck eating Pluteus, lacrymaria, Coprinellus, etc.
All of them I enjoy though, so I reckon that I shouldn't complain

Im sure there are oysters, lions mane, and morels in your area. They all like the same types of wood. Maybe you just need to expand your hunting grounds. Walk around a national/state parks

I found morels at my spots every year until last season. They all disappeared.
Everyone is finding them in my area already this season, and this is the the second season that none are fruiting at my spots.
I used to find lots of Oysters too, but they bulldozed my best spot and put up a highway.
Even the Chanterelles I used to find in the thousands have disappeared.
I do find at least one good patch of Chicken of the woods each year, compared to the numerous patches I used to find in previous years though.
This area just sucks for mushrooms. It's been super warm, and has rained six days out of the week for a couple of months.
There should be tons of mushrooms, yet all my woods, and spots are devoid of any.
I don't have a vehicle, so I can't expand my range beyond walking or bike distance sadly.
I wont give up though, and I'm going to keep checking my spots, even though I know it's futile to do so.
Thanks for the encouragement though, mate
