Brf cakes pics. First time. Too much moisture 1

hi i have 3 containers with brf. They have all been inoculated. Unfortunately it seems like the mixture is too moist. Does it look like they have been ruined? Is there anything I can do at this stage to help? Maybe putting them upside so the dry vermiculite absorbs some of the water?

i was planning to use these exact containers for my next brf project so i have a bunch of questions from you : how did you inoculated? MS-LC-Agar or ... if it was liquid how much did you use on each container? did you steam it or pressure cook? for how long what was your brf ratio?
these questions can help alot ty

yes i followed it but I got the amount of water added wrong.
whats the most likely scenario here: No colonization or colonization but contamination do you know?

with a spore syringe . 4 mls into each container. I made 1 hole in the lid of the container. And inserted the needle. Steam it. 1 hour 45 mins and let cool in the steamer. 9 hours later I inoculated.
1L of verm to 600 mls of water.

They do look very moist and they look like large tubs with only one inoculation hole? Even if you get lucky and no bacteria ravages them probably will start to pin before the whole jar fully colonises.
Flipping them upside down is a bad idea with your dry vermiculite layer on top. I'd start again and just get your feild capacity right

and just let them go for awhile and watch. Its all a science experiment so watching anything is good for learning.

Yup. Too much water in those cakes. PF material should be moist and fluffy not wet and clumpy (hey, it kinda rthyms).
Looks like u need to start over.

I wouldnt bother. When its that wet, its not really going to grow anything. U could try put a poly-filter over the top to help it dry out cleanly but the best course of action would be to start over.

They will stall. Logical is right, start over now. Flatten the curve.

when you say stall, do you mean it will colonize a bit and then stop?

Yeah stall means they stop growing towards the end. But it won't hurt anything to wait and watch them. Sometimes it's good to watch things go wrong too so you can learn to identify those things too.
