Oh yeah.. unless you want to tap into the collective consciousness and experience some rather intense emotions of all humanity
A mushroom trip in 2014 told me about 2020 and what was coming, not in the sense of being bad, as it is an actual great thing happening to us in the big picture of our evolution, we are headed into lighter times, collective growth. The download I received was rather a point of no return for humanity, in a good way, and if you know anything about growing, it's painful! Especially if you aren't patient and foreseeing the greater outcome

I'm really appreciating the value of what we have now mroe than ever. Killer environment for tripping. So serene when there's down time. Yesterday evening I spent a couple hours sitting on the back porch alternating between wathing a moose eat my willows and gawking at a huge grey owl in the tree above me, watching a long sunset... Takes one's mind off looming pandemics. Not that I'm not still nervous. My mother in law lives next door and is severlely at risk (likely won't make it) if she gets sick, and we take care of a profoundly handicapped girl with a comprimised immune system, so it's hard to completely shake that feeling that something could go very wrong... even out here. Sure helps though.
Off the grid with internet of course........perfect
I tripped last week, not planning to avoid it unless my girl isn’t feeling it, will see how it goes!

the birthday: walk to market (mostly empty) find coffee, buy 6 cans find cheese, find organic berries...
then I found the fried clams and ate a double order while walking home and giving 6 feet berth to each pedestrian, some of whom probably come from mental or drug facilities and do not know about covid, or cannot process how to give space and bum cigarettes/coins at the same time.
then the acid began to hit. (50 mics 1cp-lsd)
then the fried clams began to hit.
then we got back to the condo, and took off the protective layers - (remember to wipe down those shoes and gloves!)
I needed a bed and a toilet layer cake for an hour or so.
the rest of the time was skype with family - phone with family - WhatsApp with family. Monitoring Brother's progress in a ventilator after his bronchioscopy (one week in isolation already at Vancouver General with pneumonia) and just having a fine time without symptoms of the plague.
at least 3 birthday song singings over the afternoon.
reheated soup dinner with fresh salad (none for me thanks, those clams...)
more skype.
then the lights out, and the ceiling show began, and it was as good as it ever was. better than fried clams. I lay in bed doing some photography but those pics don't show the dynamic interplay first of Miro like pastel forms writhing gracefully and continuously, with a cake icing feeling. then the forms stretched out more and had one or more eye shapes and localized motions of cartoon creatures, and that kept going for a while.
Thanks for the birthday wishes to my wife and sister-in-law, both on same day. business as usual, and everything out of the ordinary.

Absolutely will-- but unfortunately it'll be at least 5 weeks before I think I'll have a first flush of shrooms available--
However, I have about 2 feet of cactus that will be on the stove sometime in the next week-- and plenty of MHRB and Rue to make some good nights out of this spring.
I'm as worried as everyone else with this disaster, my (and my wife's) job are at extreme risk-- in fact, I'm probably about to be laid off... will find out in the next couple of days... but I'm at the age where I don't let myself get over-stressed about the things I can't control.
In the past, especially 15 or so years ago when I first started introducing psychedelics into my life, I was very careful to try and have everything perfect in my mindset-- which I then thought meant "positive mindset"-- but as I have gotten older, I have relied on instinct to identify a "compatible mindset" which isn't always positive/happy-- just stable.
Some of my most productive trips were experienced during challenging times--- the lessons come from within, and are often located right next to the worries you have within you at the time you expose them while tripping.

randomly decided to take a little acid the other day, ended up listening to music and cleaning my kitchen most of the night and chatting with some friends.
Was a good night, the rona didn't even cross my mind once lol

I am pretty sure I could keep a positive mindset - but with how things are at this moment I'm staying level headed and not giving the mushrooms to advantage to fuck me.

I too can trip during challenging times, my set just has to be stable. But last night was not one of those occasions! I think I messed up my tea preparation,so didn’t really ever get into the psychedelic headspace. So intensity eventually started to come in, it was with no positive energy. I had no visuals or anything interesting like that, but plenty of negative vibes about Coronavirus, and the negative energy surrounding my house!
I’m not sure though if I would have had the same amount of negativity if the trip had worked as planned. I’ll reserve judgement - going to try my ice cubes again in a week, and prepare them properly. I’ll let you know how I get on......

Yeah, me and 2 of my best friends wan‘t to trip our first time. So I decide to grow our own shrooms. We have no idea how growing works so I found this nice community and now we try it with a xxxxxx from xxxxxxxxxxxx. The first is a Mazatapec and the second is on the way (b+)
Hope all works fine

Gonna try again this coming weekend, see how gnarly it gets. Reckon it's good air for horror tripping.
Will just fall into it, again. Crazy times require crazy actions.

I did 5.6g lemon tek'd cubes over the weekend and it was an intense, dark, negative trip much like DJ Ed described. Thing is, world events aren't weighing on me much and the trip wasn't focused on anything at all. It was so nonspecific that I'm still struggling to describe most of it even to myself. Probably didn't help being the first time going beyond 2g...

My “fear” of this virus literally only started to surface a couple,of days before my trip. Even after decades of tripping, I was surprised how the bad vibes took over the second half of the trip, even though I never consciously focussed on them. I do need to test my mushroom ice cubes again, so regardless, I’ll be upping the dose and trying again this Friday

ofcourse, such a tiny flu like disease wouldn't stop me for a good trip. Maybe when there's a war and I have to watch out of being discovered, bud not otherwise. I'm in love with the shrooms

I concur. Been dabbing dmt once or twice a week during this pandemic and it has been wonderful.

10 minutes in hyperspace isn't 6 hours on mushies or 12 hours on acid.
Unless you truly don't give a fuck about what's going on it's going to be something you have to deal with if you take a longer psychedelic journey.

I second that , northerner,
I’m pretty non-plussed about it all; it’s a friggin cold virus that the world has just lost its marbles over. We’re actually in lockdown brother. Think about that, big brother is actually here! Read about this kind of shit years ago as a kid; still cannot get my head around it.
But I tripped last week; was a disaster with letting my fresh tea ice cubes thaw out. Really weak, then intense, but always crappy. But managed to get thought loops for the last 1.5 to 2 hours; all about the bad energy that is now global, surrounding my house, hemming us all in.
I wonder if th tribes in the Amazon are in lockdown, or whether they are living “naturally”
EDIT: that said, I’m still going to trip this Friday. Need to confirm my ice cubes are sound and that it was me thawing them wrong that fooked last weeks trip up. So I’m going large, 5.5g fresh Mazatapec ice cubes in pina colada smoothie
