Great. Can you stumble across these in your average park amongst the community? Also Does anyone know if there is a 'peak' month that these guys choose to grow?? Like May or June.... I've been looking high and low and found many species BUT the subaerigonasa!

Yes you can, in Adelaide its quite rare to find them in the suburbs. In Melbourne they are prolific.
Peak is June id say with May and July also excellent.

Great guide!!
I would add their dislike for some other ground coverings, in particular what we call Pigface down here in Tassie, Carpobrotus rossii, which has triangular leaves.

We have lots of pine forests, I haven't personally seen them there but I assume they are. Lots of people talk about urban woodchip gardens in parks. I have also picked them in my youth up in the mountains, in treeless paddocks with cattle in them. They subs were often in the cow poos. This appears to break the "subs always on wood" rule.

Hi all - just wanting to know what kind of poisonous mushrooms are in Victoria that look like subs. I'm aware of galerina lookalikes. Do we have any cortinarius species that could be mistaken for subs, or anything else? TIA

Can anyone tell me if these are the mushrooms I am looking for, or are they just straight up poisonous? Thanks a lot. Found in Tasmania

Aqua Kahuna please create your own thread for each ID request instead of asking in another thread.
While your post contains no photos, your account has two photos in the user gallery. They are not in focus and I'm not certain of what they are but they are definitely not Psilocybe subaeruginosa sorry.
Anyway, welcome to the Shroomery.
