Dont know what I had, but I felt more sickly than I have in a long long time for a short while there. Whatever it was, my immune system just kicked its ass with the quickness I guess.

I'm working today and will continue to do so. I work with one other person who is younger than me and is around me like 6 days a week; he was exposed to whatever illness I had for days before my symptoms showed. I can easily distance myself from my main couple of customers and we're working exclusively outdoors right now. I can put off indoor projects that would expose my 80+ year old customers to whatever germs im carrying around.

If I'm forced to stay at home by the government, I'm going to be fucking pissed.

Yes because everything in the world was perfect until November 2016, when Trump and his supporters materialized into existence, a result of no prior factors whatsoever.

It's quite honestly pathetic to hear that shit from either side. The systems got everyone hating each other over meaningless issues while behind closed doors both sides do the same shady shit that fucks everybody over.

But no, one side thinks guns are more important than fucking pronouns or whatever so we all have to hate each other. Seriously? Is that what we have been reduced to?

Divide and conquer, the oldest trick in the book, yet we all fall for it every god damn four years.

The government here is going to throw $130 billion toward this.

One interesting idea is a 'Job Keeper' payment. I've said before the Federal government love using businesses as their tax collectors, this takes it in a new direction.

Businesses will get $1500 a fortnight for every person employed, even the ones that were let go if they are re-employed, to pass on to those employees.

This will save the government one giant headache of having to immediately put millions of people on unemployment benefits, in a system that is just not designed to take these sort of numbers so quickly.

The unemployment ques last week were out the door, down the street, around the block, it was mayhem.

It;s exactly the same in the UK - we've got the gov covering 80% of salaries for those laid off due to Cv.  However...

The money is paid through the employer, so if you've been let go and your employer won't take you back, you get unemployment benefit, which has a 5 week wait and will not cover most people for enough to pay the bills.

Employers aren't massively keen (it seems) on keeping people on, even subsidised, as they accrue employment benefits through this time.  With there being no clear end in sight, businesses would effectively be letting people accrue sickness, holiday etc for no benefit.  Hence a lot of firms are still getting rid of people (they can always re-hire after, right?)

The way I see it, with the revenues going to be waaaaaaay down after this, the 2008 austerity times will look like nothing.  All social programs will be cut back, and with us having a Tory gov't, the businesses will get all of the incentives (employment rights quashed, subsidised operation etc.)

Dry cough for about half of the time I was coughing then a very light phlegm with very little to no color.  Definitely not a green or yellow or other color like typically seen with respiratory infection.

I saw that just a couple hours after my post.

The two customers we're working for right now are a couple who are both over 82 years old and cannot maintain their property, vehicles, or horses and a gentleman who is in his mid 60's and on full disability.

I'm going with the caretaker/care provider option to justify continuation of work.  I doubt there will be checkpoints to determine who is legally on the road and who isn't, but I have our story straight.

We're doing everything we can to keep a partition between those customers and us. Bills and other paperwork are being sent electronically; much hand washing and use of sanitizer when we have to pass anything to them directly; separation of ten or more feet and standing downwind from them when discussing things in person; a lot of texts and voice memos being sent; etc.

I need to work

I have read Bill Gertz (Inside the Ring)for years. He is a stand up national security journalist. If half of what he says is true.....fuck those Chi com bastards. This should be the biggest story this decade.

https://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/mar/30/china-researchers-isolated-bat-coronaviruses-near-/

Chinese government researchers isolated more than 2,000 animal viruses, including deadly bat coronaviruses, and carried out scientific work on them just three miles from a wild animal market identified as the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several Chinese state media outlets in recent months touted the virus research and lionized in particular a key researcher in Wuhan, Tian Junhua, as a leader in bat virus work.

The coronavirus strain now infecting hundreds of thousands of people globally mutated from bats believed to have infected animals and people at a wild animal market in Wuhan. The exact origin of the virus, however, remains a mystery.

Reports of the extensive Chinese research on bat viruses likely will fuel more calls for Beijing to make public what it knows about such work.

“This is one of the worst cover-ups in human history, and now the world is facing a global pandemic,” Rep. Michael T. McCaul, Texas Republican and ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said last week. Mr. McCaul has said China should be held accountable for the pandemic.

A video posted online in December and funded by the Chinese government shows Mr. Tian inside caves in Hubei province taking samples from captured bats and storing them in vials.

“I am not a doctor, but I work to cure and save people,” Mr. Tian says in the video. “I am not a soldier, but I work to safeguard an invisible national defense line.”

Chinese officials have said the virus likely spread from wild animals to people at Wuhan’s Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, not far from the Wuhan Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the national center for China’s bat virus

That's pretty much how we are approaching things. I could happily sit on my arse for 6 months but the boys need to keep working.
We have our risk assessment handy, and are able to wash our hands on the truck.
We should see the curve flatten out this week... New South Wales have had a couple of epic blunders and have twice the infections as the other states.

I think the meme references his TV ratings, which he was boasting about on Twitter the other day.

I thought it was pretty standard for a president to get a polling bump upon entering a crisis?  GW Bush was at something like >90% after 9/11

While I would agree with you under most circumstances, I know a lot of people who are in a high risk group based on age and health who would have a very high chance of dying if they caught this virus, especially if hospitals are over capacity, which is almost certain to happen if we don't shelter in place, as we've seen happen in places that were too slow to react.

You don't get to take rights away because of situation. That's the point. I should also be able to defend myself from you if you go out contagious.

Seems like this stuff fills your lungs with dead tissue in the worst cases.

Invent read up, but has abovementioned China and it's unusual purchasing or urns, and 20,000,000 cell phones that are no longer active
