How low do you think retail gas prices can go? I am in one of the higher gas price areas of the country and I have been paying in the $1.60's throughout this. Today it's in the high $1.50's.

The cost to refine oil into gasoline minus the cost of the oil is $.60. So then add another 5-10 cents for transportation and .$20 more for federal tax. That’s 90 cents per gallon.

That cost will likely be higher in a covid world, however. Every part of the supply chain will be hindered in some way.

I know you're just desperately trying to blame anyone you can, because then there's a bad guy, and having a bad guy feels good.
Except there's no bad guy. There's a virus. And there's a bunch of idiots trying to cover their asses by blaming someone else for whatever happens, instead of sitting down, shutting the fuck up, and dealing with the problems at hand.
We can figure out who fucked up where after we deal with what's currently going on. Until then, I suggest you either (a) compile accurate information or (b) sit down, shut the fuck up, and get out of the way.
Or, ya know, just keep pretending I'm some angry dude on the Chinese payroll. Blame me if it makes you feel better. It's stupid, sure, but you do you. Most people are stupid. Half are below average.
Yet you're blaming me for "buying into memes" when i merely posted an official tweet from the ministry of health of Taiwan, in the coronavirus chat thread... Then you went off on a tangent trying to discredit me about watching alex jones(who i dont watch at all) and who ever else you mentioned. As far as im concerned china is to blame. They are the "bad guy". They lied, covered up and mishandled the virus and now the world is suffering. I posted information relating to virus and instead of sitting down, shutting up and getting out of the way. You put yourself in the way to smear, discredit, make fun of and attempt to prove me wrong because my information goes agianst your China good narrative. Im sure if i had blamed Trump, you have been all over it.
I haven't blamed you for anything except posting information that is misleading or outright false.
And you didn't post an official tweet from Taiwan's ministry of health. I did.
Edit: I guess now you've added the same tweet I linked. The one that says you're wrong.

I just learned a second person from my company died of coronavirus. Most of us work from home though, except manufacturing.

The lady who cuts my hair just reopened, she closed shop in early March as she had to look after her daughter who returned home from the U.K. with it. She said you'd barely know she had a cold but she kept her isolated for 4 weeks and did a great job. She had herself tested before reopening the salon.
As far as I know most cases in my locality are from returned travelers.

Sounds like a reasonable sacrifice.
My company is up to at least 46 confirmed cases in the US, I haven't looked at the international numbers yet. Or deaths.

I especially appreciate these parts of your post. Hope it's OK to cherry pick for a moment, to highlight
I think the high level of polarization in the US may be irreversible. Now we call each other derogatory names (Trumpeteers / Trump Derangement Syndrome). More and more we do not see each other as human - and instead cling desperately to our opinions and judgments, ready to defend them with vigor and outrage. In some ways I believe this is an outgrowth of viewing ourselves as individuals instead of part of a social whole. The train of individualism has careened off the track, and we see the results. Society is fractured and becoming more and more so. Self-righteous indignation is now so ingrained within the fabric of our culture we either are blind to it or believe it's normal.

I don't know about that. I've only lived through my own time, but it certainly doesn't seem the most politically fractured in U.S. history. I mean, there was a revolution and a civil war once.

Not really a political fracturing, though. It's a social fracturing.
Used to be like bickering siblings--yeah, there's infighting, but we stand together against a common threat.
Now people are happy that their sibling is the one getting fucked over.

Yes, I don't mind it at all. It's rough since I have a 10 month old now but she's great. Between my wife and I, we still get some personal time in as we alternate shifts.

I read a really depressing article on my phone at work last night. These two interrelated points have been made by some scientists. There is growing evidence that recovering from Covis-19 does not give you immunity, or not much. For that reason a vaccine may not be possible. They point out that no successful vaccine has ever been developed for a corona virus.

Hopefully people out there realize just how important the public school system is. But probably not.
