People need to realize covid is here to stay for good there is no cure for it an think it should be a federal mandates for everyone to get vaccinated every year to keep the country safe. Any oner who refuses the shot should be put on a terrorist watch list an also fined $2,000 an month until they get the shot. There is no way around this. People with out the shot are killing 2,000+ people a day.

It's trolling. His new thing is trying to sound like the turbo liberals. I think he wants it to sound so stupid we will realize that our opinions are dumb about covid actually being a bad thing. If you look this is the only subforum he posts in because it's the only place trolling is allowed. He knows he would be banned if he posted in any other place
Some people I guess find it entertaining. I find it to be like walking into a cool establishment and having a crackhead trying to talk to me that smells like piss.

Sure, but that’s also a subset of the broader group of unvaccinated US adults.

Sure, presumably there would be people who don't want it for various other reasons that don't stem from those disinformation efforts, people who do want it but haven't got around to it yet, people who are just indifferent, etc.
I guess there would be polling on it, but a lot of people might be resistant to participating in such polls.

Yea, the ivermectin subset is interesting because they A. admit covid is real but B. won't take the vax for whatever reason. The main group is still operating under the initial covid-democrat-hoax idea, in some range from still not thinking the virus is real, to it's real but not dangerous.
This group also believes that the election was stolen, so they are already distrustful of the government, and are looking for reasons to justify their feelings- ie government overreach in the form of "tyrannical" vaccine mandates. It's qannon stuff.. they already believe in the conspiracy, and they will fit any and everything in they can to justify it.
Really gnarly mess to be in. I dont know how you convince these folks to get the vax, as it would mean rearranging their entire world-view.

I think it’s presumptuous to assume half the US population thinks covid is a democrat hoax (to whatever degree).
I read some article the other day that noted a poll that suggested 1/5th of unvaccinated adults WOULD get the vaccine, and that that one fifth is enough to generally reach herd immunity. But I haven’t seen much about what would convince them.
I would guess most of the unvaccinated folks just think the vaccine is unnecessary, either that covid won’t affect them that much if at all. But that’s just a guess.

How was Datura? I had a friend in high school that was into it. He seems insane now.

My roommate took datura once. He was out of salvia and managed to get datura. It did not go well. Dude was fucked for like two straight days. I don’t think I’d try it.

The books Carlos wrote probably did encourage a ton of people to eat datura. If you want to know the true meaning of cottonmouth, smoke phantom cigarettes, and do weird shit you don't remember...or remember a bunch of weird shit you didn't actually do...datura is your plant. It's not fun.
A lot of highly trained shamans won't even mess with that plant, so it's no surprise high school and college kids who don't know anything about the reality of what plant healers actually do have problems with it.

The roommate that took the Datura thought it would be a cool replacement for salvia. That's probably my favorite part of the story. Salvia of course being a pretty shit drug in its own right, IMO. If only we knew how to grow mushrooms back then.

Yeah comparing salvia to datura is apples to oranges for sure. The both have their place for people who know what they are doing though.

There was a family in this area that got poisoned with datura after the grandmother thought the weed was mint and made dinner with it. One guy died and the rest were hospitalized.

Castaneda did make Datura sound cool, but he definitely didn't make it sound safe. Dangerous and more likely to control you than you are to control it.
I never went too far with Datura or Brugmansia. When you smoke the leaves and flowers the effects are pretty subtle. Never messed with eating the seeds or anything.
Castaneda's account of "the smoke" seems like the most bullshit of any of his descriptions of drugs.
