Do I think people are going to stand this?... good question, they freak out about toilet paper so the odds aren't good.
What if it get's worse?... it may well do.
Yes a vaccine is the only answer, might take 9 months at best for that unless they can find something sooner.
Has Ivermectin been discussed yet?

The good thing USA have is that probably after the quarantine or maybe during it (it might take longer than 6 months...) you will be the fastest country to adapt economically.
My country have been focused on tourism money for decades. I am sure than after the Coronavirus depression we will just get back to that. From being an empire owning half the world to being a small travel-cheap country, everytime you think you fucked up your life decisions remember how hard Spain fucked up.

They tested 60 people in Italy without any symptoms of Covid 19, 40 of them tested positive for it.
The mortality rate is likely going to plummet massively. That isn't to say that the current infrastructure challenges aren't real, and of course those could lead to greater deaths than normal deaths. However, if we find that the spread is far more wide spread than expected, it should be a bit of a confidence boost for everybody.
Germany apparently is planning a study of 4500 participants to determine how undetected Covid is - https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tagesschau.de%2Finland%2Fcorona-studie-muenchen-101.html

“They tested 60 people in Italy without any symptoms of Covid 19, 40 of them tested positive for it“ this is totally useless data unless you tell me how many people were tested in total. If they randomly tested 60 asymptiomatics and 40 were positive I will tell you that is 100% bullshit. It’s probably a study of healthcare workers where they leave out the part where 1000 had symptoms and tested positive.
The asymotomatic cases are likely only 25%.
Probably the most overhyped stat.
The mortality rate for covid is 1.4. You can quote me on that.

I think it's probably too soon to establish mortality rates with the lack of testing but I have no idea.
What is fatality rate of common influenza?

South Korea’s mortality rate is the actual CFR. The only way they have no growth in cases is by indentifying nearly every case, symptomatic or not.
It is absolute fantasy that the mortality rate is below 1. Not a single county has a number anywhere near that, including Germany.

Keep up the speculation Koods. I’d expect nothing less from the King, and I’m not talking about Joe Exotic.

I’m not speculating. I see absolutely zero evidence asymptomatics are anything but a minor factor in this. 10% to 50% at most.
Do you have a source for this 40 out of 60 claim?

How does South Korea keep new cases flat if there are tons of unidentified asymptomatics running around infecting people?

How many symptomatics were there in that town? If the whole town was infected and there were only 60 asymptomatics then that is hardly a good sign

The article says that 60 people donated blood. All 60 claimed to be asymptomatic. 40 of which, after having tested their blood, tested positive for the Convid 19 antigen. Meaning they are infected, but according to those who donated, had no symptoms.

So maybe we can assume that 67% of that town got infected. That tells us nothing about the ratio of asymptomatic to symptomatic.

40 out of 60 is 2/3 but then you add another 60 of symptomatic people that drops to 1/3 who knows how many symptomatic people were in that location...is that what your saying koods? makes perfect sense to me

62 people had died in that town as of two weeks ago, with 4600 residents. (That’s 1.3 % of the entire population BTW).
Your data has gone from being impressive to frightening.

Italian state TV said the father was one of 62 deaths so far in the outbreak that have occurred in Castiglione d’Adda, one of 10 Lombard towns which were the first to be put on lockdown in northern Italy.
The man’s son, 38, is recovering after weeks of being in critical condition, but his condition has notably improved. The patient is also an expectant father, with a child due to be born with days.
Castiglione d’Adda’s has about 4,600 inhabitants. Italian news reports said the father of Italy’s first confirmed patient with COVID-19 died on Friday. In all, Italy has more than 53,500 cases of the new coronavirus.

The mortality rate of covid compared to the entire town’s population is 1.3%
That’s means the absolute minimum CFR is 1.3 assuming EVERYONE got infected and nobody else died.
