Does this look too dry? Pictures

I transferred a piece of clean agar with good rhizo myc, it was all looking good and then I broke up the clump of myc at about 20% and that was like 6 days ago, since then it doesn’t really look like it is colonizing like it should. I am thinkin the grain might have been too dry. Because I ordered the pres sterilized the bag and it sat for a month or two before I used it. So my question is this, does this look too dry and if so can I take a sterile syringe and get some water and add it. If so how much. Or is there anything else that looks wrong.

It does look a bit dry in there but I would not recommend you putting more solution inside there. If the mycelium is growing even just a bit leave it. Sometimes it's a a slow process. After being disturbed it might be slow to some back strong but will come back. Give it time is all I'm saying.

I am not going to put more solution that is saturated with spores, just plain water, and yeah I know it’s a slow process, I’m not goin to toss it or anything I am just wondering what the downside to adding some h2O if it’s dry in there.

Grains don't look right. It's Contaminated I'm afraid. Those grains look like they are rotting.
Below is a picture of slowed grow due to dry grains. I always prep my oats or rye on the dry side.

Those don't look good. There is nothing to do besides start making your own grains and try again.

Thanks folks. I am pretty sure it’s contaminated as well. I mean everything was lookin fine until I mixed it up. So I’m guessin there was some contamination on the bag or something. I also did not use this in its original intent. I cut the top open(all with good sterile tech in a sab) and dropped a good clean piece of agar cleaned mycelium. I am also doin a couple BRF jars as well, waiting on some more rye grain berries. I am tossin this one in a cooler in e corner and I will check it in a week, I will know then if it was contam or just taking a while for The myc to bounce back.

The only real hope I have is that this is Columbia’s rust spore and it has been a pretty slow colonizing strain on the agar so far. So maybe it’s just doing it’s thing fingers crossed 🤞

CRS was never a slow colonizer for me. I think those premade bags were not good.
Even in the new picture the rye doesn't look good. It looks mottled and almost has that presporelated texture to it. Like it was molded before you inoculated.
