Hello, I just put this monotub into fruiting, already had some mushrooms and pins popping up before I put into fruiting. A day ago I noticed a small blue/green patch on the substrate. Not sure how to proceed, or is there anyway to deal with the area without releasing spores or making the situation worse. Any help is much appreciated, Thanks!

im not really seeing anything that jumps out at me enough to say oh shit. id just keep an eye on it and let it fruit what is fruiting and go from there. if it gets worse then isolate the tub from other grows harvest what you can thats fruiting then toss it. but you should get fruits i think you may just be looking too closely at it
oh now i see it looks like a green mold id move it away from other tubs and keep an eye on it

Anyone have any suggestions on how to treat a tiny spot like that, or should I leave it alone?

I don’t see anything in the second pic but it does look like mold in the first one just left of center.
I’d pour salt on it then maybe put a wet paper towel over that.
At least that’s what I’ve seen done around here that seemed to work ok.
That sucks cuz it looks like a nice tub.
I’ve successfully cut small spots of mold out before but they were always at the edge and I took at least four square inches of sub out.

Yo, I had no idea about the salt trick. After doing some more research seems like it is worth a try. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah I’m aware, lol. I salted the area and put a a small piece of paper towel over the area. So we’ll see what happens. If I can just get a good flush out of it I’d be happy, I’m not expecting more than that
