Hydroponic waste found
    #26550639 - 03/22/20 10:21 AM (3 years, 10 months ago)

I was out on my usual Sunday morning litter picking round and came across four hydro-pots dumped at the side of a layby with a whole load of fresh looking shade/fan leaf material on top. As I rooted through  the mess with the intention of reclaiming the plastic pots, I got a distinct 'skunky' scent.
I only took two of the pots as I was toward the end of my "round" and the bags were weighing heavy and I couldn't easily separate pot from root.

The 'skunkyness' still hit me when I  got home and pressed down on the bags to push the air out so I could 'tie them off'.

Now I've got a bin bag out the front of my house, which may or may not, be giving off the tell-tale stench of skunk.

I'm deliberating as to wether or not to go back and collect some of this material, as, judging from the smell, It's probably more potent than the ~ 5 year old remains I have stashed. I'm a very light toker, so...

only worth it if you want the pots, fan/shade leaves aint worth smokin IMO too much nitrogen, will be harsh AF even if you can dry em out before they mold, there's a reason they were chucked out

could be worth makin bubblehash if you have access to some screen printing screen material, 150u, 100u, 75u size would get you something, lot of faff tho.

Smell is not the best indicator of strength really, that's just flavanoids, tho if someone went to the bother of growing such a stink bomb it's probably good on the THC front too.

the smell out front ain't really a good idea, could bring unwanted attention, tho you have a legit excuse with litter picking if plod wanted to be an arse you're still in possesion

I once found a box of stems in an alley, did turn out to be worth smoking with a low tolerance. I would break them and just smoke the thin layer of green bark from the outside.

I couldn't resist, and seeing as we had a couple more hours sunlight I went back and collected the two remaining pots and two bagfulls of 'leaf litter' (presently airing on my kitchen table) hoping that on closer inspection there might be some more lucrative material amongst it. Sadly, not. All leaf, though some were a little smaller than shade/fan leaves.

I may even attempt curing it a little, as I say, "I'm a very light toker" and have absolutely zero tolerance.

Dont smoke stems man. Super harsh on the throat. And if you are dead set on doing so I'd suggest filtering as much as possible with a bong....but for real if you want to get high just go buy a gram of flower for $10

Edit: or make cannabutter. Just dont smoke the stems :/

man your house is gonna stink to high heaven

get the leafy bits crispy dry, but the stems still a bit bendy, then put in tupperware with the lid askew, mix it up a bit every day til the stems crack but don't snap off when you bend em, then seal the lid on and 'burp' the box every day or so, that'll be your best bet at curing, the longer you can take to dry em from that point the better it'll be  (but it'll still be shite compared to bud)

True geezer. Even after such a short time I went into the kitchen and the place reeked!
Just as well I'm not expecting a visit from the constabulary. Lol.

Yeah, the ~5 year old home grown stash I have tastes shite, but, as I only seldomly use it, medicinally, I'm not that bothered either as to it's harshnesss, or any negative effect it may have on my lungs.

Edit. @cannabinated. I don't have pics. My camera is fucked or I would have posted some. I don't own a camera phone. I know. Right.

Is your 2000s Nokia still working? Didn't know they made phones without cameras these days.

Whoever suggested cannabutter, that's a great idea. Leech the goodness out of it.

One time years ago I found a full plastic garbage bag of this fibrous fluff stuff dumped near a bin at a bus stop. Still don't know what it was. Leftover something from some sort of process or extraction I guess.

The new phone my daughter bought for me when mine was on the blink...

...doesn't have a camera

And I refuse to accept the alien technology...

that is the 'smart phone'

I also begrudge paying the exorbitant price for butter nowadays £1.49 for 250g block, which, I just looked up on the Tesco website is "currently un-a-fukin-vailable" due to hoarding bastids! lol.

Wonder if that stuff you found was what accupuncturists use for Moxibustion, it looks like green at first sight but it's Mugwort, a kinda light green fluffy fiberous stuff, they set it smouldering in a special jar doofah on some accupuncture points, smokes the fuckin house out, and yeah dint work, my back's still fucked

Moxibustion sounds like science before there was actual science. Wooing of spirits and energy and that sort of thing.

Only thing mugwort is good for is making changa.  :awesome:
