I’ve done it before myself. Also the lpeu I swabbed from sporeless gills appears to be white cottony growth on day 3.

So, I found what looks like rat poison in my deer corn. How common is that?

I don’t have much to add today. A couple of the jars I shook yesterday look slightly bacterial. I’m going to go ahead and try to spawn them and see what happens. Best case they take off, worst case the garden gets some nutrients. 🤷🏽♂️
Here’s some agar since that’s what seems to be going right for me 🤣

I’m off work tomorrow, will do transfers off these, run some wheat and maybe popcorn. And I’ll spawn these jars so I can start over. Going to use the rusty whyte clone xfers instead what I got on grain. Debating on trying these grow bags I got with a LI for spawn.

Ime with bacteria if the jars still colonize to near 100% they’ll do fine once you spawn them.

Sock I’ll save a print for you when they’re ready.

Yea my bacteria doesn’t look that bad. Probably getting a foothold because these jars took so long and kept drying out. Totally changing my lid design this next go round.
Transkei

Rusty whyte

Melmak looks the worst but it’s one that had 💯 stalled until I added some more moisture

Mind you I shook the shit out of these yesterday
For my first sub I’m thinking 3 bricks ecoearth, 3-5 quarts verm. Tossed into a cooler and pasturized with ??3gal?? Water? I have a hard on for pasteurization as I have to do it with my potting soil for peppers in the basement or else I have a season long battle with fungus gnats. I know that’s not an issue with eco earth and verm but it’s not much extra effort. Will use one those paint mixers on the hammer drill to mix it all together then spread out between 3 tubs. 2 70qt and a 60qt or file box

I did 45 minuets in the PC at 1 PSI. Opened the lid on the presto when it started to lock.
Honest i passed out while they were boiling so I'm guessing.
There is either rat poison or rabbit food mixed in with it though, I'm a little skeptical about this run.
Just got done and it's cooling down in the PC.

Time to ditch those lids and make a modified metal one.
All of those jars are dried out.

Rat poison or rabbit food. That’s is quite a big difference. I don’t see why they would have rat poison in something another animal is going to eat.

Wish I had a picture. I'm thinking maybe rabbit food. It was green and pelletized.

Sounds like rabbit food.
It seems like it would take a lot of poison to kill deer.
Where’d you get it?

TOC it's just whole corn. Not labeled deer corn.
But here a mind fuck. So the aborted AA on Black Oil Sunflower Seed, maybe isn't that aborted. I decided to eat a pin. And it was gritty so I spit it out in a napkin. This is a first for me.

We will see how it goes I guess.

Yea, I just prepped some new jars with a small hole for GE and double layer of micropore tape. Will use those for my next grain run with this wheat. Stuffs a lot dirtier and beat up looking than the rye berries I was using. Guess that’s the difference between human and feed grade though
