I just love the way it looks with wedges I don't want to shake it. These are two different jars. Amazon and Tasmanian

Damn that black seed makes for some sexy pics. Here’s a purple mystic jar almost ready to spawn. Shook 3 days ago.

Boredom=productivity
Many of these will inoculate sawdust bags for outdoor beds. Top shelf: King oyster, pearl oyster, wine cap.
Bottom shelf: Half RW, half PE.

The wedge got stuck high up on the jar neck when I shook it. I layed it on it's side so that the grains would be in contact with it. Once it gets colonized enough to shake I'll stand it back up.

Hell yeah bro. Takes a little longer but every time I try the blenderless Li it goes bacterial on me.
I’ll figure it out one of these days but for now a2g and g2g seem to be the way to go.

It’s best to use proper utensils for LI. I have a 100% success rate using blended plates. I will never use a2g. To me it’s like Barney rubbles car or a Chevy compared to a Ferrari. It might work for a short time but nothing compares to a 250k race car.

Yeah yeah. Your the king of Li. We know. Just playin eat. I appreciate the advice.
When I get more confident and a bigger pressure cooker I’ll give it a try. My mirro can only hold 7 jars so I run grain a few times a week 😂
Can’t learn how to drive on a Ferrari. Haha

Hmm, I prepped the water for blenderless LI last night.
Ill be dropping from a HG plate tonight
Eat, I seen your note on using the HG plates vs Pastyplates but if I followed, you just cut out the plate basically and drop from the scalpel to the water?
Or you loosen the puck with the scalpel and then use gravity to allow it "fall" into the receiving jar like the tiger drop method?

Yeah I fiend it easiest to cut around the culture and use the exacto to drop it in. I hold the lid above the water in the receiving jar as I do this.
Also on the LI I’m not sure how you are doing it but if you are simply open pouring you might be introducing bacteria in the pour.

I have had success with blenderless LI. How many jars are you innoculating within a single session? I have been only doing 4 jars at a time MAX. After the shake, I loosen all the lids on receiving jars first. Also, when I lift the receiving jars lids, I actually grab the polyfill and lift with it so the ring is stuck to lid during the lift then pour, keeps it less exposed. Also I think doing less jars at a time is because the pour jar, I keep the lid off. The less jars, the less pour time, the less time jar is exposed to air and possible contams

I had that problem a few times but I also had some fucking speedy af results, saying that i only did it in the sab and not tried it since I built my hood so might be worth another shot as a2g is slow as fuck

I remember the first iteration of the slurry. I tried it with some success.
Blendered LI was fun but all my old Oster gaskets have dry rotted. Oh well. I prefer it for bags but my success rate this time around has been 0!
I'm only growing for personal consumption so it doesn't matter that much.
Can't wait till I have some results with this new Faux Coir thing I'm working on. I fucking hate coir.

Do you guys reuse the plates with blender less for another session? Seems like a waste if you only do 4 quarts. I can do upwards of 30 quarts grain with one plate blended. I recently did one plate per 5 quarts and got full colonization in 4 days.

Damn maybe the reason mine take so long is there’s too much in them.
I just made plates poured thin with super soft agar then dropped them in and shook til they liquified.
I’m gonna try again with a quarter plate.

When you say it like that, it really does seem like a waste..
I did 1 plate to 7 jars. 3 of them went green before the first flush.
I may have to invest in a blender and pour spout.
