@trippy are those the HG plates? you're getting some great shots with them if so!
How do you like working with them in SAB?
I was unscrewing the lid till it was just sitting on top, then flipping the whole dish upside down like I did with pastyplates.
lift, place transfer wedge ( havent taken from the HG plates yet ) and then set the plate back onto the lid and give a little spin to start the threads

Interesting. Glass no-pours don't do that.

Thanks CamBruh!
They are awesome. My contam rate has gone down huge since I started using them. Took a few try’s to get used to them. I dropped a couple plates in the sab
I usually unscrew the lids and place it on a iso soaked paper towel and just chop up as normal. Lift the lid of the receiving plate and place the wedge at the same time. Then place the lids back on and twist both closed. I pour them deep so I don’t have to dive all the way to the bottom to reach the culture. I haven’t had issues taking transfers from them. I even drop wedges straight into jars from them.

do you have to hold or secure the plate you are taking from at all?
like, with regular pour plates, I use a bit of glad wrap under the plate and it "sticks" so the pressure of my making a cut doesn't move the plate at all and I can preform it 1 handed while holding the lid in the other hand
is that how it is working with these plates too?
old pic

but this is pretty much how I work in there, donor plates on the left and slightly further back then the receiving plates on the right. I am worried ill have to lift the HG plate and tilt it towards me to see wtf I am cutting and to make sure the plate stays still as I make said cut
...I am pry just overthinking the difficulty lol, I outta just try it and stop living vicariously thru you but I am at work and can do nothing but imagine it till I get home tonight

It doesn't look like he ate a lot of it. He probably didn't like the taste either!

I'm doing AA+ and PEs. It's to have enough time to run my pressure cookers multiple times a week. But also purple kale, purple tomatoes, black nebula carrots, cherry tomatoes, 4 varieties of mint, swiss chard, basil, rosemary, straw berries.. and bunch of other stuff haha :P
what are y'alls alternatives to Lysol/disinfectant spray these days since its all being feakin hoarded? When I use to use a cool mist humidifier - when I'd clean it out I would fill it with bleach water and put it in my fruiting tent (with nothing else in it of course) and turn it on full power and just leave it in there so it'd get cleaned out and so would the tent. I guess I could just do that to my whole lab an hour before use haha
happy growing y'all

Yep, this seems to be a smart year to bother with a garden, I've got a bunch of stuff going on pots and buckets.
As far as disinfectant, I'm doing what I always do and not cleaning shit.

Haha yes I do have to hold the plate I’m taking cuts from but my set up is pretty much the same as yours. You might fuck up the first couple try’s but you will figure it out pretty quick no doubt.
It’s funny how we get stuck in our ways and any slight change throws everything outta whack.

I've been without Internet for a few weeks, urgh.
I've ran out of jars to fill. I ran out of petri dishes so tried out my cheap glass ones. I broke three just pouring agar but they do feel "science" and that's cool.
I'm desperate to get this finished so i can move onto bags but am having difficulty getting the wood.

Hope yall doing well.
