I always see those jarred whole chickens. Yuck.
Canned beef is where it’s at. I like to make a ball of it and heat it up on a pan, so the outside is crispy but the inside stays juicy

Asante, do your supermarkets have bulk sized canned foods and jars? Ive only seen a couple asiles in stores with the huge bulk canned foods. The sizes are Enormous!
You don't want 10lbs cans of food because if electricity breaks down you cant preserve the open container.
You want normal sizes cans, by the box.

I cloned some store-bought oysters. Don’t even have the means to fruit them, but if worst comes to worst, we can probably survive for like a year off my shiitake stocked up on myco supplies recently...
That would kinda suck though, cause I’ll hate mushrooms for the rest of my life

went to the grocery store by gf's house on monday and wednesday, monday I just popped into to buy some coffee, there was lots left, I took a quick look around the store, most of the meat was gone, there was lots of bacon and $15 steaks, that was about it, all the produce was untouched, all the cheap <$2 cans of fish were gone, but all the expensive cans of fish was there, snackpacks were untouched and on sale for $1 we bought a bunch, half the sidekicks were gone, half the ramen was gone
when I went wednesday, the completely full rack of eggs on monday was gone, all the cheap coffee was gone, glad I grabbed one on monday, all the bread was gone, my gf did a $100 shop, she buys all fresh things, so what she wanted to buy wasnt really impacted at all
tomorrow I have to go to the grocery store by my house to pick up my prescription, im gonna try to pick up 9 more cans of vegetables to make an even 30 in my stock pile, and im doing maple syrup this year, so I figure I should also stock a 30 day supply of oats and pancake mix, so I have breakfast to go with all the dinner I stockpiled
but I dont have high hopes of finding what I want tomorrow

Don’t all pancake mixes require adding eggs? I’d love to stock up on that magic powder, but what’s the point unless you buy up 1000 eggs.

Pancakes don't use egg typically. You might add egg to pancake mix to make waffles though.

There's another magic powder:
Whole Egg Powder.
Its a bakery ingredient.
Half an ounce, add an ounce and a half of water
Shake
Reconstituted egg!
We don't have to worry about longterm storage properties because THE CRISIS IS NOW but, whole egg powder is said to be good for 5-30 years.

Definitely eggs in pancakes. Just water and flour would be like a flatbread or tortilla or something. I've had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup for a couple of the past weekends so good
