Jury Duty? WTF!

Why the hell do I get groin-kicked for jury duty every 3 years when I know people that go through an entire incarnation (it seems) without even having the slightest clue what the hell it is all about? WTF!? The county courthouse isn't a jog 'n a half away from my humble abode, and on top of that, I work weird hours that doesn't keep in sync with clocking in at the Municipal courthouse @ 7:30 AM Argh.. Eh.. MuthrFr.. Friggin A wtf ....

I was stoked when I got jury duty then they kicked us all out before case got started. Imagine being on an important case, no work and get paid. I get you tho you could tell them you are unfit for the job somehow

Re: led Zep and korX -godam I luv you guys. But Y the fk do 'I' get picked for this like clockwork every 3 years when others don't? Is this some kind of half-assed bizzaroworld lottery win? -Like getting struck by lightning while getting your ass munched by a shark while swimming towards your surf board after a face-plant into a jellyfish?

I wouldn't know really, I'm not all that familiar with the jury system. We don't have it where I live. But given the numbers, you get these odd outliers even if there's no clear reason for it. Flip a coin 1 million times and you'll get some odd patterns in there from time to time that make you believe "it can't be a coincidence" while they really are.

Bet on 10$ red/black 17 times correctly you’ll have 1.3mil, try flipping a coin that many times right, pretty crazy

17 times, at $10 a win. . . $170.
I think you forgot that whole progressive betting strategy where you double your bet after each win.

I’m still waiting to be selected. Been a citizen for 11 years now.
I can’t stop thinking about Tosh’s jury duty bit now.

I've never had jury duty before. I think I would really enjoy it actually. It sure seems like some people hit it a lot more than others.

Yup! But then you have to go for a further selection process. You can also get dismissed pretty much immediately if it causes you undue distress or inconvenience. I got jury duty when I was out of state for work and all it took was a phone call to the court letting them know, for them to dismiss me.

I've heard a lot of people get out of it by just giving answers they know the lawyers don't want to hear. "Yes I think I might be biased by the defendant's race." Etc.
