I know this sounds weird to us that do. But there are people that don't. They have to speak out loud to talk to themselves. I just wanna know if there's someone here that doesn't have internal monologue, I have questions.

Not really, actually. My head is mostly completely elsewhere, unless I'm very purposefully and carefully paying attention to everything I'm doing in a way that I usually..don't. It really requires significant effort. I have hella adhd though, and I think the two are related.
But I do I guess 'hear' an internal monologue when I try to. So I clearly have the ability to. I know that some people can't physically hear it. Some people can't picture things in their head(or their 'minds eye' if you will) either. Kinda freaky.

Shit, I have whole arguments in my head between me and other people. I get pissed off at someone and we have a fight, I play the whole thing out in my head how I wish it would've gone and even further. I'm cooking, I narrate everything I do.

I dont talk at all when I am alone. I not only have inner monologue but I also can pick a memory and it will act as a string and I can follow that forward or backward. Also I can see most memory in 3D and move around, and remember tastes and smells.

About half and half. I definitely have conversations in my head, especially when I find something funny or am telling a joke. A lot of the time I also think without language.

Words and music are running through my head pretty much constantly. When I'm alone I'm often talking out loud, running through conversations in different possible directions or humming out music playing in my head. Sometimes I'll be going through stuff in my head with people around, and conversations I was running through in my head will just spill out into the open. When I take psychedelics, language and music get steeped in all kinds of different layers and usually is the most psychedelic aspect of my trips.
Sometimes I feel like my conscious reality is more language based than most. Interestingly, imagining things in a 3D space doesn't appear to come as easily as it might for others, and I have a hard time visualizing imagery with eyes closed without really focusing on the task at hand. Even when living in a city for an extended period of time, I tend to get lost on paths I've been down multiple times. I don't tend to consciously map things out in my head.

I've always been convinced I'm spatially challenged as well  . My ability to get lost is staggeringly impressive, and actually completely embarrassing.
Though I am solid on grids. I just tend to walk in the wrong direction a lot without realizing it(or I forget to reverse it when I'm walking back the other way), but I know where I'm going. At least in theory.
I'm also a lefty so I'm not sure if I just want to see and do things backwards. Idk.

I am constantly writing jokes in my head. But when I'm not actively doing anything important I watch movies.
When I was in my early 20's I was broke and worked as a roofer so when I would get home I would watch movies on VHs and memorize them so that when I went to work the next day I could watch the movie in my head while nailing on shingles.
I think that people who develop inner monologue s as a skill have a more developed ability to debate and ration with people because we create imaginary arguments in our head and try to predict the thing someone else is going to say.
This is what I consider a manifestation of ego.

Mines mostly visual based. But a lot of dialogue monolog. It's mostly like a simulator in my head, it just runs through simulations of everything. It can get pretty abstract depending on what external environmental stimuli is going on

I think about what I'm going to say before I say it. But most of my thoughts are not exactly in words otherwise I guess. Also it is pretty common for me to have Tourettes like swearing outbursts that I don't have much control over.

In the morning when you think about what you gotta do that day, do you "see" a list? Do you see yourself doing everything you need to get done? Do you say out loud, I gotta get gas, groceries, etc. ? Or internally say those things in your head?

Not really, but at the same time, yeah. I could never really describe it other than another set of eyes and ears that perceive a simulated but limitless reality. When I was on psychedelics my inner mind would almost take over my perception and my actual vision and hearing could be secondary

I noticed from being single for several months, i do a lot more self-talk. Its a bit concerning, like am I slowly losing my mind or am i just super lonely? Im sure i look like a crazy person to other people who overhear me talking to me
But yes i have internal dialog. It seems constant. Perhaps thats why i speak outloud by myself, so i can hear my thoughts better....
