Italy has 60 million people. The current outbreak is mostly confined to the area around Milan.

Yeah I was just saying size wise. Which makes it even more frightening that they have like 8 times more people than Arizona in what is roughly the same size area.
That said it's good to hear that it's at least been contained in one specific area as opposed to spreading through the entire country (obviously).

I think they're rapidly moving to that here in Dallas, as they seem to be in a lot of places. Like koods said earlier, it's looking like a nationwide lock down is almost inevitable.
This whole thing -- once a big domino falls, then everybody pretty much follows. First it was the cancellations, such as the big sporing events. Once the first cancelled, the rest fell in line. Then the cities shutting down dining rooms/theaters/bars/etc. Then the rest fell in line.
Who was the first city to go on a virtual true city wide lock down? San Fran? Now the rest will start to follow.

Wrong virus dude.
I don’t know what you do in real life, but leave the science to other people please
Why are you in this thread spreading conspiracy theories that Italians are juicing their covid-19 deaths numbers and that it’s just the flu or some other disease. Do you really believe that doctors are not testing their patients for the novel coronavirus? That’s malpractice on a massive scale. The way you treat the flu is not the same as covid-19. The pneumonia caused by those two viruses are not the same and require different treatment protocols. What exactly is your agenda here?
Are you that dense. As in the past viral test kits had false positives. Our covid-19 ones will too.
As in the past during outbreaks the casualties were often not attributed to co-infections despite being co-infections.
Your track record of accurate predictions and heck even reporting. I would have a hard time believing you saying fire even if I personally saw the fire.
Like there's publications about the aftermath of covid-19 in pubmed...

This shows how much I know -- I had no idea there was such a thing as delivery truck time windows. Designated times when they can be on the streets making deliveries.
Here in Dallas they lifted those restrictions so delivery trucks can deliver at all hours to keep grocery stores, etc. stocked

Ah yes, a precedent established in the year 44 BC through Julius Caesar's municipality reforms. For 2064 years it has stood until now. Society is crumbling.

For these purposes permission shall be granted by this law to specified persons to drive wagons for the reasons stated.

The more food that can be moved from the centralized warehouses to the consumer private supplies, the better.
There should be a stimulus to ease this process.
Every home needs a 1 month supply. You should have that always (as per homeland security) but next to nobody had it, so it must be prioritized that as soon as possible this process is realized.
The factual situation in the nation (regardless of nation) would be so much improved if everybody had theirs, if the necessity of food did not require a person to go out of doors when potentially infected.
Home quarantine would be easy peasy if no household had only half a box of macaroni left.
What people dont realize is that if you see the figures of Italy, that every city of a couple hundred thousand people WILL HAVE THOSE FIGURES ITALY HAS NOW if we play it lax with lockdowns.
For lockdowns you need stockups.
Not stupid TP but the stuff you need in proper proportion.

Also we'll find out some of these tests have higher than expected false positive ratios. As well as test administration error and other mistakes.
I see. Perhaps this could explain the higher death rate in Italy? Could the Coronavirus be piggy-backing on the Influenza virus? Or does it just spread in the same way?
