Kash's mescaline HCL extraction questions

Hi friends,
after an attempt of Kash's A/B mescaline ten there has been this result. Originally about 30cm of pachanoi was used. My main question is, why is it not light brown? From previous readings the information points toward it only being white after additional washes with MEK or purification into Mescaline fumarate. The recipe was followed pretty carefully and the emulsions were completely separated prior to each stage. So is white powder straight away an indication that no alkaloids were actually pulled from the cactus? thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Looks like mescaline. Try it, see if it's active.

Yeh, I’d prefer to make sure I’m not putting poison into my body but yes that’s an option lol

You should acetone wash it

It was just dropped out of solvent. OP knows exactly what it is made from... there's a very limited range of things it could be.
As long as you didn't evap part of your basic solution in the dish it is what it is, cactus extract. Poison doesn't appear out of thin air.

Thanks guys I appreciate your interest. I’m definitely confident my solvent (xylene) was completely separated from the aqueous cactus juice before I salted it. But as my grasp of chemistry isn’t strong I’m just wondering if it’s dangerous to ingest the powder considering HCL was used to salt. Just FYI I used 4 drops in about 100ml for the final salt pull. I know theoretically it’s fine I just want some firsthand advice on that 👍

You could use litmus to check the ph is right. Should be at ~7.

I got a good solid orange result from a marquis reagent so there’s definitely mesc in it

Did you check the ph?
I would have been celebrating the moment I saw it drop out like that. It's great when extractions go right. Doing it a second time just like the last time is a trick that's hard to do.

I did, the pH appears to be around 7.5. Hopefully the ph dye I used is accurate but overall I think it all points to being mesc. I also touched a little to my tongue and it was very bitter with no burning sensation. So good I think! Do you think extractions with more brown have been salted with more acid in the final aqueous solution? Some of the few pictures I've seen of the process seem to show some people not actually fully separating the emulsions at each stage. I wonder if that's also a factor. I separated the fuck out of them.
