Locations in Southern Highlands, NSW.

Hi all,
New on the site and have recently moved to the Southern Highlands region of NSW and curious to know if people have some locations they've found actives? I've seen there's a nearby Belanglo State Forest but not sure if they only have the edible types and not necessarily actives. To be honest not even sure if any of the NSW species grow in pine needles...
Anyway greatly appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction on where to find some (mostly interested in subs) actives so I can go hunting mid-April (best time from what I've heard previously)
Cheers

Please read the Forum Rules prior to posting.
Quote:
7. No requesting or revealing specific locations.
Use common sense about what might be considered a specific location. Anything that could lead someone right to the spot is not allowed - It is perfectly fine to mention places that are more than a couple square kilometers. When in doubt, do the moderators a favor and just don't say it.
People are in any case not likely to reveal their spots to strangers. My suggestion is you read up on what habitats you should look in, and start looking for Psilocybe subaeruginosa when the time and conditions appear favourable.
Also keep checking this forum to see when others start finding them.
Welcome to the Shroomery.

I've already seen a few Psilocybe subaeruginosa observations posted on another site this year, the season is already starting in some places of Australia.

Thanks for the welcome Been lurking a while and finally decided to join up.
Also I realise people likely won't share their locations and by the forum rules can't share exact locations but Belanglo is a huge area (around 3,800ha) so I was just wondering if anyone's had luck there at all (a forum search didn't reveal anything about the area). I'm planning on going there soon but wanted to know whether I should bother looking for P.Sub or just stick to the Saffies for eating. Also if there's any other places (forest trails etc) in the area that I'm not aware of as I'm new (to the area).
Appreciate if anyone can please share their findings on what's around this place (actives or not - I'm just a fun-guy).

no one can tell you, but you can do a search on www.inaturalist.org or www.mushroomobserver.org to see what has been found in your area
