I am attempting to split the growth with a scalpel. Splitting the fast growing end from the slow growing end. The slow side seems to grow straighter.

A mutation on one of my prickly pears, it affected one other pad but not to this extent. I lopped it off and am growing it in a pot. So far, its a revert, but I suspect the top aereol is the one that will produce another three-way pad.

Flower tax. Myrtillio Geometrizans cutting flowering.

Really cool thanks for sharing. Does it smell similar to the invasive one ?

It has a similar smell for sure, but I'd say the smell is a bit more sweet and pleasant, and its also much more aromatic

Just digging mine out. Supposedly going to warm up next week.  I live in the forrest without a lot of sun so I have to run the Russian Mammoth (Helianthus Annus) jeeze what a name  .... just to get an 8 foot plant.

I grew some random unlabeled sunflower seed last year and the plants were massive and multi-headed, with perfect symmetrical blooms. saved some seed but its probably crossed with all the other sunflowers i grew. in comparison, the grey stripe mammoths only got to about 10 feet and only had one head per plant.

Did the mammoth have better seeds for eating?

I didn't try them myself, but I would guess that the mammoth are better for eating due to the larger size. I'll have to sample some this year.

Right on man, I'm looking forward to it

I know what you mean, I rent, and I have neighbors on all sides.

I solved the problem by planting as many trees along the fence line as possible, and so far, I've gotten the back neighbors totally blocked off.

when the landlord finally gets his house back, he will have a full on jungle to contend with, because there were no trees but one willow tree in my back yard before I moved in.

He might be a little pissed too, because I didn't ask if I cold plant all this stuff in the ground, hehe:grin:

Increases the property value. I got a few nosy relatives and neighbors trying to cut everything down and look into my yard and am having to plant all kinds of stuff. I think Bamboo will be the best in the short term and a mix of cedar in the long term.

Yeah, before the old nosy woman died next to me, She made it a point before I even got my shovel in the ground, that she didn't want anything planted on my fence because she sprays weed killer there on her side.

I was like, forget all that noise, I'm not going to be told what I can and can't do on my own property.

So I planted all my Tomatoes, and other climbers against my fence for support.

Well, she let them get nice and big, then she sprayed everything with weed killer destroying it all.

I just let it go,and decided it's not worth it, and then she died the following year.

She was only wanting that area open so she could sit and watch my every move.

I would catch her watching me out her window when I would garden, then when I'd look up and see her she's duck down.

It was very creepy, and it made me sick!

Now, I have Dogwoods, Privets, Figs, Pomegranates, and some other stuff growing all up and down the fence, to block off the new nosy neighbors that bought the house.

I also planted all kinds of stuff at the back of the fence to block the nosy hillbillies as well.

They cut everything down on the fence including stuff on my side, so the could see what I'm doing.

I made it a point to plant everything further away form the fence to prevent this from happening again.

Now, they are all but totally blocked.

It's been work, but it's slowly working to my advantage.

I would love to see the people's faces when they move into this house after me, and see all the fruit trees that I've planted, not to mention all the other cool stuff too.

If they are plant lovers, they will be Amazed, to say the least!

god damn that sounds fucked. I'm so glad I live on 30 acres of forest, I hate the idea of having neighbors that can just sit there and spy on you whenever they want. Thats awesome that you've planted all that stuff though.

Yeah, it was awful!

I couldn't smoke in my yard, take a leak, or do anything that she might see.

I have a shed that gets over 100 degrees inside during the summer, and I would set out there and smoke, because I can't smoke inside.

When I would get back in, I would be drenched in sweat, like I just returned from a sauna!

I would take her any day over the new neighbors though.

About ten guys moved in her two bedroom house, and so far they have backed into my fence tearing it off the foundation, and they dug huge ruts in my yard with their vehicles because they can't drive.

I swear, if they do one more thing, it's on!

I really need to move out to the country!
