Contaminated agar, or quick tomentose growth?!

I just transferred from my first Petri dish to others. Everything looked good on the first one, but my new dishes grow a bit differently.
Can you help me guess whether there's mold in there? Should I transfer again?

But that's not the point of this post. I don't want to guess, I want to learn.

Is the orange color a result of the food dye?
If not then I would say contam. If so, the growth doesn't look overtly ominous. If not on a hurry, wait and see if it changes. Or transfer rhizo, then keep plate to study. I have some tam'd plates I'm gonna put on slides so I can start learning more about what I'm dealing with under a microscope. Just for funsies. Sounds like you may enjoy that as well.

I’ve had similar plates, just had to delete a ton of pics though.
Take a transfer of each and see what happens, mine were myc.
Found one!

Those wedges are pretty big, if you take smaller ones it seems to clean up quicker.

Can confirm. I had a bad habits of taking huge wedges. Forced myself to take as small as possible last time and the difference is noticable.

the only sector I see that is potentially a contamination is in the first picture but even then it's difficult to say. the indicator to me is that in the 12-3 sector the mycelium from the inoculation point starts as rizomorphic but then blends into fuzz. I've seen that happen in my plates, which were definitely not contaminated. It's always hard to say from a picture without having the plate in hand.
Like I said, I would just transfer away from the fuzz. you can then keep the plate and see if it shows colour in a while.
