So my school is closed down till basically September for me at this point. Everything is online now, what we can finish at least I guess since I won't be able to do any lab work...well except at home :hehehe:

Anyways... I realized just how well prepared I am to grow mushrooms over the next couple months. It is awesome!~!! I have over 150lbs of wheat, 250 grams agar, over 500grams malt extract, like 500 large mycobags, over 150 quart jars, 200 sterile petri plates in sleeves, lysol spray, 4 litres of iso alcohol (I managed to buy a jug online somehow, all seems sold out now) . And I have several good cultures going and some new clones to try out :derfase: RW and PE clones to grain soon however right now I've just been harvesting a lot of PE shoeboxes and looking for clone candidates. I will put some new melmac spores I got to agar in the next few days.

I just made up a ton of wheat and have 10 jars in the presto and 7 jars in the mirro :super: and 20 more jars to PC in the morning after I get some zzzzz

Yeah Ace Hardware is my second go to. They also carry gloves. Never checked for iso there but they might. Pretty much everything else we need is there.
I'll hit our hydroponic shop today too and see what's up there. Shits just so damn expensive there and I'm so damn cheap.

Might have to check the Depot out today...  Thanks for the tip. Have to grab a block of coir anyway.  Can't believe I forgot about Ace!  Of all the weird things to have out my way we have an Ace not too far away which I bet has all kinds of good stuff.  Never thought about them having WBS or anything like that. :smbfacepalm: Such a HDepot junkie from buying lumber/materials every few days usually.  God I hope we have a good price like that on our WBS here... Walmart was a fucking nightmare Friday and their prices for WBS were nuts.  First time my crippled ass was able to hobble outside for three weeks and people were ramming into my wife with their carts, grabbing stuff out from right in front of me while I'm trying to grab things.  People being rude to my handicapped client and shoving her out of the way.  Hell with the "viral" version of Walmart...

Right?! I started to grab the 20 lb bag next to it for $2.50 and then looked over and saw a price difference. I didn't realize this was a 40-lb bag until I read the tag. Couldn't pass that up.
Figures since many of us are stocking up of cult supplies rather than tp and water I should make you all aware.

Also, sorry for shitty picture of the tag. I was trying not to be in people's way while staring at and taking pictures of a price tag

I have several agar plates on their 3rd transfer, but they are only about the size of quarter right now. If I wanted to drop to WBS jars, should I let the myc fully take over the agar plate or can I drop it like that? Will the exposed uncolonized part of agar fuck with my moisture content or anything? When do you guys drop your agar to grain?

hey man , you can drop whatever size of wedge you want , bigger the beetter i would say or even better cun itno several pieces, just cut out the colonized part , no uncolonized part , the back of the colonized agar( that is not colonized cause it was on the inside o the dish  ) won't fuck anything up ;

it is advised that no plates that are fully colonized should be used , cause contams can hang out at the edges , can still work out IME , but yeah , good luck

^^^ yep.

If I have a plate grown all the way out I usually cut a circle around the whole thing 1/3 inch from the edge.

If you’re using a piece the size of a quarter I’d first cut a circle around it and then split it into at least two pieces.

Drop and shake them up real good to spread the myc around.

It might be faster to just grain it. I always wonder about that.

Should probably do an experiment one of these days. Get clone transfers and drop one at quarter size or whatever and let the other grow out then drop it and see what finishes first. I kinda want to say the quarter size cuz you’ll get to shake it faster and that’s there the magic happens.
