So, I was posting a plenty around here last summer. By September, I think I had the hang of everything; you decide from these pictures from last grow:

Anyway, I ended up just harvesting that tub and stopping there. I had plenty of shroomies, but last month, I ran out! So, here I am trying to rebuild my stash. I really wish I would have kept clean cultures, an old jar of myc, something! Agar work was the bane of my existence, and I am not looking forward to working back up from a spore syringe. However, I did have a bunch of presterilized grain jars that I never got around to using them.
9 of 11 looked the same as the day I pulled them out of the pc. The other two, they were covered in some of the nastiest mold I've ever seen. Guess they weren't sealed properly or didn't get pc'd enough. Anyway, I decided to try MS to grain on the jars. Won't get a clean culture from agar for at least the next couple weeks, but maybe one of these jar will work out and I can g2g them and get growing ASAP.
I also had a 10 pack of petri dishes still sealed up and a little agar in the fridge from forever ago. I left the agar out on the table for a couple days to see if anything would start growing in there, and nothing. Guess it was safe to use. I filled the dishes up, and I used a home rigged inoculation loop to spread spore solution on 3 of the dishes. Saved the rest for transfers.
I'm planning to maybe get some APE spores and trying my hand at that.
Wish me luck as I embark on the quest for more mushies again!
