Dried mushrooms looking funky!

So I fan dried some new shrooms for afew hrs and put them in a bag on friday night with decicant. I opened the bag this AM and they were soft and smelt abit today, Not a really strong bad just kinda a sharp mushroom smell. I broke the stems down the middle and put them on the fan again. The desicant seemed fine but the shrooms were not drying well.
Whats the deal? I used 5 grams food grade decicant to 18 grams of shrooms.
Will they be ok?

They look very bruised. I've always fan dried for 2 days then finished
Them in a food dehydrator till they're cracker dry.
Did you squeeze the stems causing them to split like that?

Split the stems slightly to get the big ones to dry faster. The brushing only started recently ( overnight ) and I harvested Friday. I'm not to sure how they got so bruised unless I washed them to hard.
Do they still look ok to consume?

I’d put them in the oven with the door cracked open at like 180.
They seem fine but I’m pretty sure the blue is from alkaloid oxidation which hurts potency.
Only time I’ve had them go all blue like that was when I left some out for a day and a half before dehydrator space opened up.
It’s worth getting a dehydrator if you’re gonna keep doing this, new ones are like 40 bucks but people get them at thrift stores or online for 5-15 dollars too.

Thanks! Will do. It's it a BS rumor that heat harms shrooms?

Lol never heard that rumor.
People make tea by boiling them no problem. I think you have to 300+ Fahrenheit to start to damage them.
Leaving them wet exposed to air is a far bigger issue.

Splitting the stems and washing them is what bruised them so much to turn that color. I think they're still ok just get them cracker dry using the oven thing or go get a dehydrator.

Ive heard the potency claim before about brusied shrooms but my most potent batch I had were very bruised. I only took 3 grams which for me is quite mild but they felt as if they were 5 grams. Maybe if they werent bruised they would have been more powerful.

if your going to grow mushrooms by a dehydrator the pressure cooker and dehydrator are the most useful tools you can have in mycology.

The stems look yellow/light green? Dont know why no one mentioned that, cap looks grey aswell? Shame cause they actually look quite nice with that discolourment lol and you know you said they smell? Is it like a bitter smell? Ive left mushrooms lying around before and they always get a bitter smell, makes me ill aswell lol
