Looking to build a shed for drying herbs this season.

Ok so I am looking to build an ideal drying chamber/shed out of wood this season for me to easily (and all in 1 spot) dry out magical and medicinal herbs for sale and use later into the year.
I was wondering if any of you have done this before or any of you have any ideas to do this the best, least expensive and most effective way possible. Any information on what I'll need to do will me greatly appreciated. Like does it need to be sealed in from all outdoor air or will some outdoor airflow be of benefit to the process, does it just naturally be fully shaded or does it matter being it will be in a building etc. Whatever you know or think about this please share 😁

In my opinion as a hobby herb grower I dislike drying herbs with outside variables.

cool idea. easy shed ive seen before; cover a woodframe with roll of black roofing tar paper.. the black would collect heat from the sun. help drying, some open airflow would be benificial.
i have silkscreen frames meant for art projects, but double as drying trays in the mean time.

Airflow is definitely helpful for drying but some protection from the elements like a roof and at least a couple walls is beneficial as well. I have seen people hang bunches of herbs from the exposed ceiling joists of their barn with good results. They tied up a bunch of herbs on each end of a long rope and hung them over the joist so they weighed each other down.

Wow! Thank you all for giving me some ideas. It'll take some time and proper plans but I'll try to swing by with some pics when i get it done.

You could use some food dehydrators. I have dried many an herbs with my trusty dehydrator. This works really well for fast drying, and for quick sampling. I tried drying herbs in my shed, but it's much too humid here, and they seem to take forever to fully dry.

Damn. I was hoping it would be quick and easy to dry large amounts with little need for worry but I know little is easy these days. If I weren't broke I would get me a dehydrator but i would expect to need a large one for as much as I'm planning to work with.
I'm working on getting some useful, medicinal seeds to grow out but I'm at a lack for what to look for. With this upcoming treat to the world we once knew what would you all want to grow out to benefit you in the future?

It may work out for you to just build something, since you plan on growing so much. Herbs will also dry well inside a house with a light breeze on them as well.
So far I have some Lavender growing. As I've heard it's got a lot of medicinal potential. I have a lot more herb seeds to start, so I can blend my own medicinal teas. I'd love to get some chamomile seeds!

Obviously if you can get power to the shed you can use a dehumidifier or modify an a/c to act as one. Another option is to use tubs of damprid or make your own; it uses calcium cloride which is hydrophillic and also commonly used for ice melt in the winter, so it should be on sale now
