The Nazis considered this the way. Apparently the Tories do too. Has someone explained to them that the disease selectively strikes elderly conservative people?

Let's be serious about this one, is herd immunity even a possibility with Covid19?

Imagine they go for herd immunity, infect everybody, and it turns out that like with the flu, the immunity is only good for a season.
Great going guys!

Of course, but in the US it will take a long time and a lot of people will die in the process.

I just found out the kratom supply in Canada is being interrupted by this, my vendor is almost out of greens and he switched to only selling mixed kilos and he upped the price by 10 or 15 bucks
luckily in January and February he had a buy 2 get 1 free deal, so I picked up 3kg February 1st, still got about 2.5kg left
a couple days ago I realized I was taking kratom too much, I was taking 2.5g every hour almost about 11 times a day, so I tapered down to taking 2.5 grams every 2 hours, trying to miss doses so now im only taking it 5 times a day
when I found out about the shortage today, I decided to taper my dose in half to 1.25 grams, ill be taking my first half dose at 12 in 20 minutes, hopefully im fine
ill take the half doses every 2 hours for a day or 2 then try and switch to every 4 hours, then a few days later try every 6 hours
my goal is to be completely off in the next 500g so I can put away my 2 kilos into storage for medical emergencies

Likely the infection rates between the UK and the USA will be the same regardless but the death rate may be higher in the uk. Right now it is looking like we can expect around 700k deaths in the USA from this virus this year

Those are the people not invited to the Herd Immunity party.
I prefer a vaccine.

On what do you base that assumption? I would argue that the death rate will depend heavily on the level of public health care. And US is basically comparable to third-world countries when it comes to public health care. Would US even treat people people who are unable to pay for the treatment? Spread rate will also increase if people cant stay home when they are ill. Seems like a probable US thing...
I think US will be hit hard...

Just bought a TON of hi-calorie soups, oatmeal, snacks and various other common items. Went to another store and got one of the last TP packs of four. And got two rolls of paper towels. Slim pickings out there. I felt the tension out there in those stores.
Plus i already had a small collection of canned soups to start. I feel pretty well prepared now. Time to drink this Shock Top, for survivals sake.

Sir Patrick Vallance acknowledged there are fears that clamping down too hard on the spread of the virus through tight social distancing measures could see it return in the future.
Thing is that there are vaccines in development, and slowing the spread buys time until they are ready.

I'm gonna say this again. Our testing fucking sucked. There's nearly 100k tests coming in so expect near that many confirmed cases. Last I heard they're still being strict with the tests so you should expect most of the ones they give will be positive.
I got a friend who is a public school teacher who is very ill. She doesn't meet the criteria for testing. In her words "everyone else out collecting toilet paper and I'm over here dying."
She admitted it might be the flu though. Her immune system sucks and she gets sick alot.
I heard you can hold your breath for 10 seconds and if that induces a painful coughing fit then you might have it.
Dunno how much good that does me or her since we're both already prone to respiratory problems with normal infections. But it might be a great way to determine if you might have it if you don't have chronic issues.

damn, am thankful to be so generally isolated but now slightly scurred to go to my upcoming appointment with the voice therapist, because it is in the city QQ
trying to consistently break 25-30 seconds on all my notes coughing fits within 10 seconds would set back all my progress ;-;

Woke up drenched in sweat and vomitting last night. Fucking felt like I was gonna die, I had no balance and couldn't see straight and was barely strong enough to climb the stairs.
Nauseous as hell today. Headache, back pain, tight throat, my chest feels super heavy and with stabbing pains, feverish.
I'm guessing it's just norovirus or something mixed with allergies. Definitely not a fun time to be sick though. I havent thrown up (non-drug/booze related) in decades
Called out from work, likely can't go back for a couple weeks now since they're being super cautious. Not a great time to lose my income, everything is so weird right now

There were some Asians shopping at the stores. I hate to say it but that made me nervous being around them....
