well I won't call it a total fail but I think it could be better. the pasteurized subs are actually way behind this one but I will run this again but properly so fresh clean spaen and I'll dry the manure to keep the bugs down proper tub size sub depth ect

there is that mole thing, is this a culture you have been seeing it on?
is this experiment showing that we don't need to pasteurize poo?

I never see it on this culture but it showed up in this tub, the other two tubs don't have it at all neither did the parent

and no it wasn't really to show anything it was just documenting a fuck it moment, I've used untreated manure before it's nothing new and I would suggest treating it, these are usually ok for a good flush

gotcha, well it was a cool documentation nonetheless
I cant wait to pop my poo cherry this summer, pasteurizing is an untested process for me yet

So let me get this straight... you have a thread where you can’t get regular prepared tubs to first flush because of mold and then you go and knock up a tub of unpasteurized manure with sketchy spawn and you get a decent looking flush? Sounds like your wrong is right and your right is wrong.

unpasteurized is loaded with microbes but often along with it is dung loving fungi, unpasteurized can fend off most contams we worry about because it's already loaded with stuff, we kill most of that stuff pasturizing then after a couple weeks molds can get a foot hold. trich will indeed consume this tub that much I do know

do you so your saying with unpasteurized, you don't have to worry about bacteria contams, but you will lose them to mold, or another fungus at some point? would you recomdend this for a good 1st flush, like a better 1st flush than normal? Like say, I were growing pan cyans, and typically my first flush isn't great, and the second flush is always much better... with this tek, I would get just 1 good flush? or is this just something for cubes??

it works ok with pans as well but I never did this to recommend anything I just documented it, it's not going to increase yield or be any more resistant, I just did an outdoor grow but inside lol. Bacteria never really is a threat to a bulk substrate it is a threat to our grain spawn, our subs will have bacteria that just a given but if it is in your spawn it will be enough to eventually let mold take over

I see, that makes sense. I for one, think those bugs might be beneficial in your substrate.. as they die and eat the poop, and poop more nutes. Not all bugs, but I do think some bugs are more helpful than harmful.. but maybe more so when theyre dead,, especially bugs like ants.. Once I can source some P. Zapotecorum spores I have a theory that scooping up a fire-ant clay soil ant-pile with all the ants and all and quickly closing the container, taking them home and PCing them in the container. Then add 2 parts fire ant pile, 2 parts coir, and 1 part verm as the substrate and see if I can do a good grow of those with that substrate. I think something like that would be good for a landslide mushroom.
