I managed to find..beef shanks and lunch meat/cold cuts in terms of meat. And a fuck ton of brisket and neck bones, which I passed on myself .

Lots of eggplant and zucchini and plenty of produce though.

Glad I cooked a gigantic turkey a few weeks ago and froze a ton of turkey meat, not that I really mind going without meat for a bit, but it's nice to have options.

Thank fuck I can still get wine at the grocery store. Most of the state liquor stores, if not all near me are shut down. I refuse to use cooking wine in my tomato sauce :kingcrankey:.

Cleaned out a few stores this morning, mostly to give rations to my family, it could get really bad with all these people living paycheck to paycheck not being able to pay rent and afford food from all the layoffs. Seen a lot of kids just buying mtn dew and frozen pizza lol. It’s all one big party for them cause they think they are immune

lots of local ranchers and butchers are selling meat and have probably are happy to do so. It's more expensive than you'd find at wally world but it's also probably better and humanely raised.

I checked my butcher actually and he was getting run on too. Out of the less expensive cuts. If it comes down to if I have a neighbor with lots of cows...

There are roughly 2 people in this thread:

-people who lament empty storeshelves.

-people who will receive an additional bag of 22lbs red lentils in the mail today :stirthepot:

You're on the www, where plenty of capacity webstores have no problem whatsoever with empty storeshelves. The lentils are from a farmers collective. Cheaper than in the supermarket AND no postage cost for a 10kg quantity.

They sell right from the silo, 2019 harvest

Lentils are like 22% protein, half that of beef.

Stopped by Kroger this morning for a few things and while it was busier than your average morning for sure, things looked a heck of a lot better than this past weekend and late last week.

Great, then peoples freezers and pantries are approaching saturation.

Thats an advantageous situation.

People gotta have their month of supplies in case they need to self quarantine.

Tons of groceries have changed hands rapidly, all will be eaten in due time.

Most people don't bother with orders like that because things that heavy tend to get pricey with the shipping. Plus then I'd have to eat lentils

1) free shipping for all orders over 10kg

2) Lentils are absolutely nutritious and delicious.

Delivery!

Now THIS I like to see!

Just received my parcel of 22lbs of red lentils.

The mailman was the first person in Holland I actually saw wearing a mouthmask and gloves.

I congratulated him on his excellent precaution measures.

YES, there are people who ARE using their brain in my country.

That's really surprising honestly, the free shipping. And that's kind of what I meant, I think a lot of people wouldn't even consider being able to make orders like that reasonably, so they wouldn't check. Since you posted that I did some searching around and there are some good deals around for sure. And don't get me wrong, I was not lamenting the lack of goods in the stores. These are keen times to be sitting back and observing :popcorn:

No masks here yet. I'm sure down in the cities there probably are quite a few but I'm yet to see anyone bother. I think a lot of people will feel like it's an indignity or even like they're being "rude" by assuming everyone's an infectious pariah. People being so nice that they're being stupid.
