Are you still going to work during the pandemic? * 1
    #26532458 - 03/13/20 10:25 AM (3 years, 10 months ago)

Who's lucky enough to get to work from home?

My classes switched to online, I still have to work 20 hours though. Somewhat of an isolated job (interacting with less than 15 people a day), but the clients I see are basically petri dishes.

Are you still going to work during the pandemic?

If bills continue to be delivered to my residence, then yes.

I can work from home twice a week, max. So I'm doing that. I have to be onsite the rest of the week. Until I get the virus myself in which case I'm guessing I'll have spread it all over my work place during the incubation period(which apparently is when you're at your most contagious in terms of viral load), or gotten it from someone who spread it all over my work place already.

It's a conundrum. This whole thing is fucked.

The Mods & Admins haven't had a Pandemic Teleconference :smirk: but you can rest assured that as long as we are sensibly able, we will keep the Shroomery op and running.

The nature of parts of the Shroomery will change a bit, mostly The Pub, as members start to inform and organize inituatives such as any community in an emergency.

The mods will go easy on this in most cases.

The Shroomery may prove important in its mission of harm reduction in other ways than before.

Ythan, Geokills, and myself haven't made any commentary so far as to leave our station.

Let's do this -- AS A COMMUNITY.

The entire company is working from home next week. Few members of R&D and me are coming in for some essentials but we will work on separated work-stations and try to work shift-like so nobody is in at the same time.

For now we have a couple active deadlines but we expect those canceled next week so we can all relax

Everybody is working at home in my company and most of our clients.

At TV our president pretty much told people to stay at home.

Yes, I'm still going in.

It's impossible for me to work from home unless they make the decision to completely lock the doors on the building.

I work at Amazon. They monitor our performance rates every two hours. The best way to increase your rate is to open and sort the items in boxes from China because they usually have many small pieces. The virus can not survive a long boat ride. The only thing we get flown in is maybe cell phones from Japan.

But if you get a confirmed case of the virus Amazon is giving up to two weeks paid time off. So now I have mixed feelings about getting it.

I heard it can last 4 to 6 hours in the air and on things.

Can't vouch for the accuracy of my source but I heard this today from someone.

I was told go home mid day tuis morning and that turned into oh fuck yeah you can't cuz we have an agent flipping out.

I'm on vacation next week but I expect I'll be asked to work from home after. But I'll probably have to be "on call" to put out fires.
