Never rooted Brugmansia in water myself. Remove all but one or two of the top leaves, place your cutting in some soil, cover with a plastic bag to create a mini greenhouse. Leave in indirect sun for a week or two.

Everytime I have used soul It has rotted. So I thought I would try It in water. No sign of any roots yet.

Brugmansia roots better from woody growth than soft growth. I've always rooted directly into soil freely outside. It roots quite easily though so just watch for rot and keep patient.

Brugmansia roots exceedingly easy from older growth. Talking a week in water and you're good to go.

Ah, Brugmansia, one of my favorite plants! Here is my Mother plant from which I obtain all my cuttings.

And, here are some previous cuttings that I took a couple of months back. All of these looked so good, including their mother until I got too overzealous about putting them in the sun too early, and it fried off most of their leaves, and turned them yellow.

Anyway, all I do to root mine is, I first take the cuttings and let them soak in water for a day or so. Then, I take off all unnecessary leaves, which usually leaves just a bare stem, and I pot them up directly in moist soil. I also mist them daily, until I notice new growth forming. So, by the time that happens you already should have roots. There is nothing easier, and it usually takes about two weeks

Cheers but shouldn’t there Be roots forming in the water? Because everytime I have Transplanted them into soul They just die and rot. That’s why I am keeping Them in water. Should I see roots grow?

You can do that, but I always let all my cuttings soak in water for a day or so, just to make sure they are well hydrated before I put them in moist soil. In my opinion, they develop a stronger set of roots, when rooted directly in a potting mix medium, opposed to just regular water. they will root either way Keep us posted!

Damn son Beautiful!
I'm scared to leave mine in the ground because of my grow zone.
My original plant came from a cutting from a 10 foot tall in ground plant years ago.
An old man, and his wife own it, and it live right up the street from me.
They cut it back to the ground, every year, and it still grows back to about 10 feet throughout the season!
I don't know ho it survives a zone 7A winter here!
Oh, I just saw where you said your survives a zone 7B, that's Awesome too!
I'm going to put mine in the ground, because if the old man and woman's comes back, and you're a half zone ahead of me, and yours comes back, I'm going to go for it!
What cultivar is your pink one by the way?

I am in zone 9, had the same brugmansia in the ground for several years. It grows all year long and constantly pushing out flowers. It is about fifteen feet tall now, prune it very heavy in the winter.

Frosty Pink looks about right!
On second thought, I'm going to keep mine in a container.
I have a severe white fly infestation every year, and they destroy most everything that I plant in the Solanaceae family of plants.
It sucks too, because my Datura's looks so good, and get a few blooms, then they all get totally wiped out.
There is no way to control or kill the white flies either, and it gets worse every year.
This plant has gotten too big to take that kind of risk with, and I'm going to grow my Datura's in huge containers too.
As long as I can keep some plants potted, and up in the front yard, on the concrete driveway, they aren't affected as bad.

A fresh new re-pot in a much larger container!
Now, to wait for da blooms!

I might throw the cuttings in the ground, and see what happens.
Maybe I can constantly spray them to fend off the white flies.
