Shrooms in Whisky

I want to try and grind up about 2g cubensis and get the most out of it
I have some good quality whisky that might make the drinking of it half enjoyable
Does anyone have any advice? Will this increase strength or decrease? Heat it as well? The whisky is 40% is this too weak and am I better off making a tea?
All advice and info is much appreciated

eh, I dont recommend alcohol and mushrooms. tea is good but just chomping them down or mixing with OJ is best.

If the whisky is to help with the taste then fine. But if you’ll be drinking sufficient quantities to induce an alcohol buzz I’d recommend against. Something to drink in the comedown can be nice but not on the comeup IMO

I'm literally just thinking of getting bang for my buck. What would be most soluble for psilocybin, alcohol at 40% or water?
I have read that some people recommend pre boiling the water to get the oxygen out of it which makes it less likely to lose potency. I was thinking of grinding, soaking in a small amount of whisky, pre boil water, and make a tea...
Not getting drunk lol I know thats a bad idea. I tried a lemon tea before, but even if I had lemon juice in normal tea that would taste BAD.. I did it once before but it tasted almost undrinkable.
So rather than grind and soak in lemon, soak in a little whisky and then make tea

I never understand all these posts on the taste. 100ml of tea gets chugged down in under a second. Rinse out with orange juice. Job done.
YOU ALL NEED TO MAN UP!
By the way 40% alcohol will do nothing. Pour lemon juice over and make a tea.
If you’re looking to extract the psilocybin you’ll need a much higher alcohol content, double boilers, and measuring bottles.....And then it won’t be stronger. You’ll extract all the psychoactives without any loss by boiling for ten minutes in the tea. Although I boil for 5 then simmer for 15.

There was a culture amongst my raving buddies where they thought mushrooms beer and weed was the ultimate combo for festivals. I was never that bother by it tbh but they were convinced the beer helped to reduce anxiety. I personally prefer not to mix anything but weed and other psyches with shrooms but hey each to his own.
EDIT: Don't taint good whiskey.

I was under the impression that the actives were much more soluble in water than in alcohol.. That would mean you would want 0% alcohol for a most efficient extraction.

I’ve been watching a few tek videos on this recently. I don’t get this, but 190 proof (ever clear) alcohol tends to be used. Seems like an easy way to be an exact dose of psilocybin. Having said that, I just made a tea from fresh mushrooms, and frozen in ice cube trays. Each ice cube is equivalent to 0.75g dry cubensis. Frozen, the cubes don’t lose the psilocin, so you’ve effectively frozen fresh mushrooms, and know exactly what you’re getting. Much easier than trying an alcohol extraction, IMHO.
And if you add lemon juice to the tea while boiling, the lemon starts the dephosporising process (no idea how to spell that). Basically does what the liver does and thereby speeds up the come up.
All on here say, and I fully agree, you will not lose any potency boiling the tea.

Ive never tried it but I know morning glories soaked in 151 Rum for 4 days in a dark jar works very well. Im going to run it again, but this time no lemon bitters (tastes awful).
Just use the bare minimal amount of whiskey to cover yer shroomz is you are curious about if it works.

This is off the top of my head so I may be wrong, but, I think the reason for alcohol over water would be for shelf stability. Like when making a tincture.

Awesome cheers guys, I think I am overthinking it and a tea will suffice.
Lemon juice for me ruins the taste and shrooms arent too bad.
I started with truffles and it was god awful lol. I would say never try truffles, I always associate that taste of ass with tripping now
I shall make the tea, no lemon juice or alcohol and see how I get on. Cheers dudes!

100% agree. I gave up being fancy about things a long time ago.
Hot shroom water tastes downright fantastic compared to most plant psychedelics.
Bottoms up!

Cheers bud, think I was still “coming down” this morning after last nights awesome venture into hyperspace! Yeah, tea only lasts 2 or 3 days in the fridge.
BUT..... going back to an earlier point, and props to PrimalSoup for this one; I made a tea from almost half my fresh mushrooms. Chopped them up in a pan, which took ages, then poured over a bit of lemon juice. Then brought to the boil, having added no water....the water soon comes out of the mushrooms, and they boil in their own liquid 👍🏻
So boiled for ten minutes, then simmered for about another 15 mins. Allowed to cool, then strained (that was energetic work too, straining through tea towel!!).
Then using my large 100ml syringe, I filled a couple of ice cube trays - 27 ice cubes, each equivalent to 0.75g dry. BUT THEY’RE FRESH, and freezing allows them to store indefinitely. And I know the exact dose I’ll be getting.
So; stores indefinitely same as with alcohol; you know the exact same dose, same as alcohol; and it’s fresh mushroom, same as alcohol.
So for me, I’m absolutely converted and will be freezing tea from fresh mushrooms going forwards. I’ll still dry some, for the convenience of carrying them around 👍🏻

Found it!! Took me 30 mins, but anything for a bro 👍🏻
Link to PrimalSoup’s post on making fresh mushroom tea for freezing: here.
I differed slightly; used lemon juice, so not as accurate as citric acid; I boiled for ten mins then simmered for about 15 mins, much longer than Primal recommends, but still learning, still nervous!
Good luck. I’m gonna have to order more ice cube trays!
