BRF Spawn Jar Readiness

My jars are about a month old and the (cubensis) mycelium has just covered all exposed sides of the jar. I am assuming the visible growth along the surfaces occurs faster than colonization of the center of the media. How long do you give your jars to completely colonize prior to moving to a monotub?
Thanks in advance.

If you’re gonna break them up into coir you don’t need to wait, once it’s totally covered it should be good to go.
If you’re fruiting it as a cake it needs at least a week to consolidate.

Yes going to coir. I assumed the more colonized it was the faster things would go in the tub. Tub conditions are a bit harder to maintain than the jar obviously.
Do you have any experience in terms of knowing if the mycelium growth in the center is the same as the visible areas?
Thanks.

You definitely want the whole thing colonized before spawning. Usually once the surface is covered the center is done too, but maybe give it a day just in case.
I’ve only used brf cakes broken into coir once but they were colonized through right at 100.
Do you not have a pressure cooker?

No I use Bod's tek with boiling water and haven't had any contamination issues. I am just overthinking it I guess! This will be my third go and I have been making adjustments each time as I haven't had a really good flush yet.

Right on, just wondering why brf but that explains it.
This is your third time spawning to coir?

Yes. I went into a big tub with one 1/2 pint jar not realizing it was too little spawn. Then I used 3 jars split into 2 smaller tubs with better results. This time I am going to 3 jars into each tub. I am looking to have a coir that is colonized enough that I can just dunk/soak it for a second flush. As of yet the coir simply hasn't been "solid" enough.
I only ended up with ~25g dry from the first three. My biggest challenge has been to keep the moisture balanced once fruiting begins. The fruits really suck the moisture from the substrate.

Three to a shoebox should be decent. I run mine with a quart of spawn so I think you’ll be at .75 pint.
Those look like decent shrooms for so little spawn.
What size tub is that? And what kind of mushroom?

Cool lil nipples on top. Like China Hats
Yeah, shrooms are more than 90% water. They suck up all the water from your substrate.

25 grams dry from 3 1/2pints is pretty dam good IMO... I don’t know how much more you’ll be able to get out of that amount of (brf) spawn.. either way nice job man... I see your using outgrows lids too those things are awesome, at least I loved using them for grains... it’s probably hard to squirt spores all around the jar with only one inoculation point...
In my limited experience with brf I had probably close to half my jars with an uncolonized core about as thick as a pencil after the outside was visibly colonized. Could of been due to bacterial contamination too

Thanks!
Yeah those lids are great when beginning or using a syringe. I am at the point now where I am inoculating from agar. I imaging the airflow is still important but for me the injection port, not so much.
Well I doubled the amount of spawn this round and within 48 hours I have fuzz everywhere and what look to me like primordia. I haven't seen anything in 48 hours before. There are also some structures that look to me almost like fingers reaching up. They are a bit pressed down now as I misted.
