No Condensation on Monotub During Substrate Colonization
    #26526380 - 03/09/20 11:10 PM (3 years, 11 months ago)

Hello Shroomery
My tubs had condensation on sides for first couple days of colonization but now it seems to be lacking.  Any advice?  Thank you.

Is the temperature super consistent? Condensation usually comes with temperature drops. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dew_point

PS do these tubs look healthy?  I’m a little worried about tub in photo #3.

Yes, very consistent now.

If temps are super consistent then you may not see condensation.

I've read some people say that temperature drops help trigger pinning, but I haven't tested it so don't quote me on that.

Been tripping on it all day, was definitely consistent warm temp.  As soon as I lay off the heater the condensation formed again.  Thanks for your help!

I've had to block off two air ducts in a room where I have some tubs going and drop my thermostat down to 72f from 74f. I'm seeing some blueing around those areas directly underneath the bottom FAE holes and some yellowing elsewhere. Little to no surface condensation though with these changes, I'm hoping to see some develop soon. Oh, also, I have blocked off each bottom hole with micropore tape to contain some humidity throughout colonization, as I usually spawn to fruiting conditions.

:takingnotes:

Curious to see if OPs tubs develop condensation, and when.

Yeah, don't look at the walls, look at the substrate surface and if its drying out.  That will tell you if you need to dial back the FAE.
