I made my first rye grain spawn bags yesterday. Last night I put them in the pressure cooker (presto 23 quarts) and left them there for 90 minutes at 15 psi. This morning I opened the pressure cooker (after 6h-7h) and took out my rye bags. And then I saw all the bags that touched the walls of the pressure cooker were overcooked and the rye berries were broken and looked mushy (see pics below). The sides of the bags that had not touched the walls of the pressure cooker looked good. Also, quickly condensation was created inside the bags after I took them out of the pressure cooker.
I had ten 1 liters spawn bags in the pressure cooker. And now it feels like I have failed big..
Here are some pictures of what the bags looked like before (1), and after on one side that touched the walls (2), and after on the other side that did not touch the walls (3).

What went wrong? What do I need to do to get it right? Can the bags be used or do I have to throw them?
Thanks for the help guys
(By the way I put about 1 inch of water in the bottom of the pressure cooker. And it looked like all the water was still left in it when it was finished).

As long as it's only along the outsides that it's mushy bursted grains it's likely fine, mine tend to do that on all bags that touch the outsides of the pc, I do what I can to avoid it but I've never noticed any issues. If they are sterile and your inoculant/inoculation process is sterile you should be good.
Also felt like worth mentioning, I do bags at a minimum 120 mins but I know others who use 90
Looking at the pictures it looks like it's isolated to one side of the bag, the other side doesn't look nearly as bad. I'm assuming it's probably just a small amount of grain that's actually like that tho..and the moisture in there will even out over a few days probably..similar to how jars can look kinda too wet when they come out but after 12 hours or whatever they look fine when the moisture redistributes through the grain..
tl;dr I wouldn't toss em, but it's hard to say for sure. they don't look that awful to me
Are you using spores though? (I gotta ask lol)

Thanks bro. Yes, it's just the rye on the outside of one side of the bags that is mushy. But from there to the other side of the bag everything looks good.
Oh really, is it better with 120 mins instead? In that case, I run my next bags for 120 min. But is there anything you can do to keep the bags from getting mushy? I have more bags ready to be put in the pressure cooker. So I wonder how I should do with them to make them better than the last ones?
Alright then I keep the bags. But how long should I wait from taking them out of the pressure cooker until I can inject spores? For these bags I have MS spore syringes (later I thought of running agar or g2g).
Thanks for your help mate
