First grow log!

Hey guys I hope you’re all doing well. Recently I have been diving back into this hobby and figured why not do my first grow log! So first I’ll start with the grain prep, I used bods oat prep tek to make 7 spawn jars. I boiled for 45 minutes dried over night 60 minutes in a colander on the counter then the rest of the night in the fridge. I then proceeded to pressure cook the 7 spawn jars on medium high heat (about 6.5) for 2 hours. Let the gauge drop to 0 and removed the lid to cool to about 98-100 degrees. I then proceeded to inoculate the jars with about 3 cc of a clean liquid culture that I have. The lids are sfd lids with a hole in the metal lid flipped upside down. This is hour 1 right now and so far I can see that the grains are alittle on the wet side (how do I fix this during my prep?anybody?).what do you guys think of the moisture? I will update again when I see growth!!! Thanks guys you are all great!!

Firstly they look fine. Dryer is prob better, but these look good
I do mine with bod's tek and I try to follow it to a T. Here is how I get mine dry tho: 1. boil oats 2. strain oats 3. drying i. Put out as many baking sheets, trays, etc as I can find and put a towel under them. ii. put oats on the trays. The more spread out the better. Usually the layer of oats is .5-.75 inches deep. More surface area=faster drying iii. wait 1 hour 4. load the jars and PC
Also, you could not use any trays and just put a towel on a table and pour the oats on the towel. tbh im not sure why i use trays

I’ve left on towel before for like 6 hours and there was still moisture in the jars maybe the 45 minute boil is over hydrating them?

Hmmm, I just follow bods Tek. Do you boil it for 30 and check for split oats?
Truth is they look fine to me, but dryer is usual better.

A little moister in jars after pressure cooking is normal. Not a problem

So about 2 days ago I spotted some growth. We’re 6 days in now and this is how far we’ve got!
