I'd guess they're just butthurt about how small they are. Plenty of the mushcult fellas will gladly share with you what they're doing on the edible/gourmet side.
I live close to where nearly half of the mushrooms in the country are grown and all of the commercial businesses are perfectly willing to offer advice, tours, cheese and wine, etc. The other local small-scale gourmet producers, too, are totally hospitable to other ambitious growers. They even trade among themselves and help each other out. I've got all the resources available for edibles/gourmets, just an iota of the funds and none of the land... Basically, it just seems like a lot of people will display a lot of hollow enthusiasm and either not have the funds/expensive land or not be willing to put in the work. There's no real threat unless you what you have is fragile... at least that's the attitude in my community. So my guess is that they have very little that they don't want to lose any of.

Sharing and supporting is what makes this community so great. We all just want to do what we love and we are all here to make sure we all accomplish that goal. Withholding information and being plain unhelpful is the wrong mindset. I've yet to experience much of that here, luckily.

Yeah, I can see that dynamic being the reason. I’ll try to copy that poast to trusty ol’ Mush Cult.

Haha, point taken.
I just wanna supply a couple hipster-run corner stores. Forget coronavirus, it’s an epidemic of health-food buffs around here. Still 0 chance that I’ll scale up anytime soon, but it’s be nice to have another income source, however small.

That's why I chose it I don't use LI or LCs to expand I only really use g2g and agar wedges to inoculate. I just suck at LC though. I probably could make it work nowadays but everytime I think about it I get flashbacks to the pain and sorrow it's causes me in the past. I have LC PTSD.

Mc will give you g2g/lc PTSD
I’m having good results messing with lc/li but g2g is the shit.
The thing keeping me interested in lc is being able to keep them on deck in the fridge or whatever and having the option to knock up tons of grain on a whim.

Nice thread!
Im just getting back into the hobby. Wanted to do it properly this time around though (no more PF and MS to grain), so I made a grow room and dedicated quite some time starting up, doing agar work and experimenting with different grains and prepping methods:

Just made the shoeboxes, hope to see my first pins the coming weeks
Then some other varieties and species if I get this going and gain some experience.

Mine takes up a closet in the spare room. The sliding doors come off when I'm ready to work and completely hidden when I'm done. I've got to figure out a new solution soon tho cause that room is becoming a nursery!

Yep! I hit my wife in the face with the blow out safety plug thingamajig like week one of growing. (it was a PC I got at the flea market) she made me order a presto that night and I've been running my shit on the grills side burner ever since.
she also complained to me the whole house got hot, the windows got wet, and it smelled like cat piss mixed with barnyard farts. I couldn't argue.
Oh yeah....

Lol. Sorry got carried away. Not sure where the lab starts and the yard begins but that's how/where I get them shrooms.

I just got myself a bayou classic propane grill and did my first PC run with it jarring chicken last week. Jarring 10 quart jars of chicken makes it smell like you're in a fucking chicken factory. I probably will never run a PC indoors again. A user here has 5 of these grills and propane tanks although that looks... sketchy as fuck lol. But iamgine doing 50 jars worth of PC'ing in one run. Sweet.

What started as a walk in closet in a spare bedroom is now a my little lab. Originally was carpet before laying some cheap plywood down and then laying down vinyl on top of that. Still needs another rack or two and on the corner I do my SAB work. Eventually I'll try out some agar or get a flowhood but for now what I'm doing works. FAE is a slight issue and I'm trying work it out to where it out to where I can get a round of fanning in while I'm at work.

i have an entire room dedicated, slowly trying to fill it. about 10x12 feet with carper. i have a flow hood and some other basics. might upload a pic of this thread grows more. the OP makes me jealous with the linoleum floors. aside from ripping it out, whats a pro way to deal with carpet? maybe plastic liner?

Yea just throwing some plastic sheeting over it and stapling/taping it to the base boards works well.

What are you doing in a SAB if you don’t do agar?
