He wasn't talking to you....
non of your mushrooms are active so don't eat any of them.
and to avoid future confusion don't ask for ID in this thread but make your own separate ID request.

you dont really need to go into forests for subs, as they grow in the common woodchipped landscape gardens all around Auckland.

I'm not super comfortable looking in gardens in parks etc and really like the idea of walking around the forest for a few hours but just wanted to know if it was a waste of time in the forest

Woke up this morning to find one of my tubs has pins showing. Very happy as most of the spots I know aren’t really local, so won’t be able to check them during lockdown.
Unfortunately a slug has been through and wiped out some of the pins, had a gentle poke through but couldn’t find it. So I’ve raised the tub up over a tray of water, hopefully that will stop any more getting in. I’m based in the Auckland region.

Nice! Is that an outdoor tub with wood chips where you just have established mycelium growing from previous seasons?

Yip an outdoor tub, with pine chips, dry crushed pinecones, old cabbage tree leaves, pine sawdust, basically anything I've seen subs growing from.
Over last season I just keep adding stem butts, spore prints, old mushrooms, and colonized agar that I no longer had a use for to the tubs.
