Microwaving swabs for sterilization

Anyone ever tried microwaving swabs for sterilization, you know like maybe in a microwave safe container. Just don't feel like busting out the ol' pc just to run swabs, even though I'm sure I could find a few other things to throw in there. Anyone with experience doing this or any thoughts? Thanks in advance!!!

Well I obviously know how to pc them and I'm probably not gonna go hunting for them or buy them online, just thought it would be a quick way to do it in a pinch. Anybody ever tried it?

I don't think it would work. Maybe if you put water in with them but you don't want soggy swabs. Dry swabs I don't think would even heat in there idk.

Microwaves are designed to make water molecules vibrate and get hot. Dry stuff doesnt really work.

Oh I thought microorganisms had water in them. Guess not.
Microwaves do a good job of sterilization when the item rotates sufficiently. Residential ones only rotate the items in one axis

You cant be sarcastic like that Bod, people might think you agree with me lol.
I had no idea microwaves were used in a lab setting. How long do they have to cook?

Microwaves are a good tool when used correctly. Vermiculite for example sterilizes very well in one.
