I would say check thrift stores, but they don't usually bother with them any more IME.

You likely just need a hdmi to aux converter. My sisters kids play all those old systems on her fancy tv

Yeah the gun utilizes some unique properties of a CRT apparently.

Check out pawn shops. Could always be one there, or value village.

Sometime I'd like to get a really nice little CRT TV from towards the end of the era, like one of those ones that can do HD resolutions over component.

"the screen is drawn by a scanning electron beam that travels horizontally across each line of the screen from top to bottom. The Super Scope takes advantage of this in a fairly simple manner: it simply outputs a '0' signal when it sees the television raster scan and a '1' signal when it does not. Inside the console, this signal is delivered to the PPU, which notes which screen pixel it is outputting at the moment the signal transitions from 1 to 0. At the end of the frame, the game software can retrieve this stored position to determine where on the screen the gun was aimed. "

From what I can read it seems almost impossible to do without pretty much inventing new hardware and software to run said hardware :frown:

1. Awesome snag.

2. This is precisely why I keep 1 old (2000 model) SANYO 20" CRT in the basement.

Read what spirit_shadow wrote about how the gun works. A converter is of no use. An actual CRT needs to be used.

Just one of the reasons why it wouldn't work on any "new" TV.

Pertinent question: who still owns one or more CRT TV's in 2020?
