Paralysis from Psilocybe cyanescens 2

It’s been roughly 16 hours since dosing and I’m still experiencing wood lover paralysis from cyans. Thankfully, it seems to be dissipating, as I’ve almost regained control of my vision and I have a bit more control over my limbs. Though, motor control Is still very compromised. I can barely use my hands; limited ability to grip small items. I’ve experienced the paralysis twice before from cyans, but it hasn’t been this severe in the past. I had double vision for 12 hours. Not fun.
The cyans were picked in coastal dune areas. Since there doesn’t yet seem to be a consensus on what causes the paralysis, I’m guessing a few things could be at hand based on the hypotheses I’ve read. Some of the picking spots are close to the mouths of rivers and creeks known to not be the cleanest. In hindsight, I should probably stay away from these spots. If there’s a shellfish ban, maybe it’s not a good idea to eat mushrooms from the area, duh. The dunes are also very close to the tidal zones.
I’m only on my second season finding actives in the wild and my excitement to find as many as I can likely lead to picking some that were old and possibly rot is involved.
I don’t believe the paralysis symptoms have to due with size of dosage, as that hasn’t been the case the three times I’ve experienced this (small doses).
This latest experience has me thinking I may be best served just avoiding the wood lovers in the wild.

Do you have any guesses for the type of toxic compounds that could be present in that river or tidal zone? Mercury or something else?
Hope you recover completely

Not sure about the specific compounds. It could be all manner of things related to livestock and farming.
I’ve read the hypotheses and reports that Benadryl may alleviate the symptoms, but it’s done nothing for me.
Vision is continuing to improve, but motor functions are still compromised. I have more control over my arms when laying down than standing or sitting upright (fingers lock up).

Maybe tea helps. With tea you don't ingest any of the mushroom material.
Maybe the paralysis-causing compounds are not soluble in water, but idk.

Roughly 20 hours since dosing and motor functions are now rapidly improving.

Paul Stamets talks about this on his most recent podcast with joe Rogan, and also in Michael Pollans book, How to Change your Mind. I’m sure he talks about Psilocybe one he discovered and named after his son.
He paints a pretty scary picture about the effects; such as, imagine tripping on your own outside and the paralysis kicks in....you could possibly die.
He didn’t discuss making a tea from them, though, only eating them, so maybe Pandemoon has something.....

Scary There is this huge thread about woodlover paralysis on the shroomery from a few years back https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20849882/fpart/1/vc/1 but I think understanding of it has not significantly advanced since then. Some say antihistamines like Benadryl help, but not for everyone. And people have reported paralysis from tea as well...

Ive had a toxic like experience from wood lovers. It is not cool. Feels oike a poison at times. They were wild picked as well. I think i tried Benadryl and it did help some but not much.
Homegrown Cubes FTW.
