Your all time favorite spot. 5

I think we have all had one of those spots that a trip just felt so much more magical. "Being in the right spot at the right time". Where things just feel so in sync. This was from one of my backpacking trips.
I always bring a few grams of mushrooms when I go on my adventures. May or may not take them, depending on whether and how I'm feeling energy wise and whatnot.. (rather have it and not want it, than want it and not have it)
Anyway, this was taken in the backcountry. Very secluded from anything man made. It was absolutely majestic to get in this hammock right here and take in the beauty of this rock we live on. Really got me thinking about how small I really am. How irrelevant I am. But it was a beautiful thought. Really just gives you appreciation. Sometimes that's all we need.
This also.. made for a GORGEOUS night sky as you can imagine. Zero light pollution. Milky way and all was visible at night. I will hold this night to my heart for the rest of my life......
Post a picture if you have one of one of the best spots you've taken the journey! If you don't have a picture.. please leave a description! But, words cannot do justice for spots like this..

My fav hiking route. Here on a high dose combo of both mescaline and acid, almost 2 feet of cactus (bridgesii pachanoi mix) + two and a half hits of ald52.
. . . .
I was so fucking high, I wonder how I even managed to take these photos. The photo with the cloud.. oh my, it looked like my hand was pulsating, dissolving into fractal patterns, raising up and merging with the sky to create that small cloud.

That's sick! I really love open areas when tripping. If things are too tight I start to feel smothered. I knew you were feeling some way when I seen the hand picture
I love capturing moments like that though. Even if the photo doesn't show what you were experiencing.. you know what was going on there! Relive that moment somewhat when you look back at it.

Love the pictures!
A couple forest ones

And, of course, the beach

Weird question. I don't trip in nature because I've come face to face with bears, coyotes and wolves before (and I don't imagine I want to be tripping in such a situation). So how do you overcome that fear or plan on tripping in a place with possible "predatory" animals?

You shouldn't take those things in predator land without a few buddies. Tribal situation.

Awesome photos, gents. I’m going to have to try harder! ‘Back in the day” only ever tripped outdoors. But since returning to mushrooms 30 years later, just camped out the once, on my allotment. Apart from being disturbed by a neighbouring allotment holder who tried to engage me in conversation!, it was a pretty amazing trip. A few of photos of the setup:

Awesome retreats there, guys.
Man, choosing a favorite place to trip might be as hard as choosing a favorite food or music... I wish I had some more pictures of my usual nature jaunts... those are probably the ones I most most often choose or am drawn to.. Unfortunately, I hardly find the desire to touch my phone when I'm tripping, even less when I'm immersed in nature. I'll go through a couple, sorry if I'm oversharing:
First and foremost, the woods and (not pictured) fields:
This is a pretty common scene around here. Getting lost in the sensual awe of the massive power of water is always something that draws my attention for long stretches of time. Waterfalls, perhaps my favorite. Tranquil yet devastating. All the mist that feels like it hydrates you through your skin and as you breathe it in through your lungs; the impenetrable noise that feels like a blanket that keeps you isolated from the surrounding world; the rainbows that are cast when the sun hits it right...
Wandering around town at night:
When it's populated enough to not seem like a weirdo if you're out having a stroll at 2AM, but not so populated to see cars more than occasionally. Bonus: town lights during snows... a similar kind of blanketing that waterfalls can offer. But from the sky! The constant glistening from whatever light source may find its way...
Botanical Gards: This is one’s a little less common. Even if I find myself there midday on a weekday, there’s a lot of hustle and bustle for the most part. However, it’s quite the little treasure and people tend to be in their own experience…
This is a shot of one of the more temperate jungle rooms in the massive conservatory. They’ve got quite a few corridors of varying climates and passing through each one offers you a Very visceral change in setting… it can really feel like a world tour going through this place tripping. Hell, even their restroom corridor has an amazing atmosphere:
And then, for those of you into the more artificial lightshow experience:
They've got this massive area of fountains that they illuminate and spit fire out of and all sorts of neat shit. I'll usually prefer the plants, but sometimes I'm drawn to the excess of this feat of human engineering.
Last, but, by no means least:
I don’t care if it’s a fire pan, a bonfire, a campfire, a burn barrel, one of those decorative bourgeois propane burning fire pits… whatever. If there’s a fire in twilight/night. I can just get lost in it for the entirety of my trip. I’ll just excerpt from another post…
Quote:
I'll take a dose - soon thereafter start splitting logs - get the fire going just in time for the incompetence of building a fire to kick in - sit back and enjoy the ride. The feeding of the fire is kind of an intentional way I can undulate my tripping experience from heavier to lighter. There's often an amazing contrast between the winter night sky and the perimeter glow of the fire that really takes me places. It's cathartic and astral. The fire has a way of cleansing, the stars have a way of welcoming the new.
Sorry for the long post. 'Setting' has got to be one of my favorite things about tripping and I love having the altered experience in all sorts of different settings. I might be an oddball in this regard, but I sometimes even like shit like going to the grocery store when I'm tripping pretty hard.

Well. It's usually myself and 3 other buddies that go on these backcountry situations. One of us is usually always sober and one of us does carry.
Now in your case. I mean, that's always a risk. Coyotes won't fuck with you. A bear is less likely to as well(depending where you're at) - but if you're an area that's populated heavily with activity I wouldn't really mess around with it.
I've never came across a bear. Coyotes all of the time. As much as I don't want to.. I do want to see a bear in person in the wild (not tripping of course)
Awesome pictures everyone! Very happy to see this thread is becoming what I wanted to see!!! Glad we all share this same adventurous mindset.
@Foothpath I know exactly what you mean about playing around with the setting. Everything you surround yourself with had a way of completely changing the trip and different vibes. I just LOVE being outdoors and away from any strangers. Which is why the woods always wins. Very, very blissful.
One time my friend and I were hiking on an Equestrian trail. As a group of about 4 horses were passing.. the last one stopped and backed up on me. The rider said "he's new to the trail, go ahead and pet him. Your tattoos are throwing him off"(I have two very colorful sleeves).
So, I'm tripping absolute dick and I'm slowly approaching those horse to pet it so it doesn't get weird on me. I was so scared. I thought this thing was going to FUCK ME UP. The way it was looking at make "what the fuck is this thing"...
The size difference and standing next to a horse is something else. Especially when she hit me with the "his first time on the trail". Eveeyrhing went okay. But I shit an absolute brick. Horses would fuck us up if they knew they could. He was scared just as much as I was.
But yeah, if I came across a bear or something that had intentions on attacking.. I'd shoot it and hope it goes down. I hope I never have to experience something of such. But as much as I do hike in the backcountry, odds are I will run into a bear - not saying an aggressive one - but ya never know.
Animals are scary as fuck.

I've been to this spot up in the Sierra several times over the past 6 years or so.
It's an alpine meadow with two mountain peaks towering above. Two small lakes in the meadow right next to each other, but each lake is the headwaters for two totally different river systems...Pretty far up, up around 9,000 feet or so, right around the tree line. It's way out there and within wilderness but is accessible by a dirt forestry road. With a "normal" winter, the spot usually isn't accessible until sometime in late June or July because of deep snow.
Hanging hammocks in trees, scent of wildflowers in air...laying around in lush meadows...Light of sunset on mountain peaks...sound of wind through trees...night skies with no light pollution.
The times I've been up there...usually few people or no one at all.
I try to make it up there at least once every summer with a small group of friends. We usually just chill the first day we arrive, smoke some herb and drink a few beers. Then the next day we eat LSD or mescaline. Then the next day we usually do mushrooms, sometimes combined with MDMA or MDA. Then the next day more mushrooms...Smoked DMT at a few points, balloons of nitrous oxide at a few points while tripping, and lots of herb & hash.
It's one of my favorite little pieces of earth, a great place to forget about the word/society for a few days and re-connect with oneself/the planet/the cosmos...As long as I live in this area I'll be trying to make it up there at least once every summer for many years.

That's beautiful man. I'm so glad I made this post because I know I'm not the only one who holds certain nature spots to myself. We all have a majestic spot we like to be outdoors.
Absolutely beautiful pictures you have there. I could only imagine the visuals overlooking all of that beautiful open space. Man, your mind could wander around all of that for hours. And the night sky is probably incredible as well.

Stunning, OM. In fact everyone’s fave spot is gorgeous. I feel slightly embarrassed for uploading my allotment pics lol.
So here’s where I often walk my dogs in summer; takes a few hours to get up there, over the moors, so generally you are on your own. Might have to make an extra special effort and camp up there this summer:-

Oh yes, and look at all that sedge grass! Guess where I go in Autumn 🤣 ❤️ DJ Ed

As much as I like exploring Alaska with a pocket full of dried fruits (love tripping while I'm backpaccking through the Chugach), I am really, really starting to enjoy my teepee out back. One of my better Craigslist finds... You can get it warm and have privacy, but don't feel detached from nature or "locked in". I know I'm a few days late but just wanted to share.
