Split in mycellium and substrate in jars * 1
    #26524043 - 03/08/20 02:34 PM (3 years, 11 months ago)

Ive notice there is a split in the bottom of two of my jars where the mycellium looks very strong and then the substrate looks dark and unwell.  Its not connected to the mycellium so its take long for the mycellium to take it over.  Should I birth the jar?

Toss it?

Birth it and wash off the uncolonized infected portion

Does it cost you something to wait it out?
If yes, then toss it.
If no, then wait it out; if it hasn't colonized that part in 1 week you will know.

It happens. I call it fragmentation. It basically happens from not gently compacting your substrate when u load the jars.

Also, i highly recommend using wide mouths next grow. Regular mouths are a pain in the ass.
