Why does nobody suggest using latex/nitrile gloves for grafting? It's great!

A few weeks ago I tried handling some prickly pear with nitrile gloves and had no problems with glochids going through them or causing any problems whatsoever, so I did some grafts with the gloves and it was great!

I wasn't bothered at all by the pereskiopsis glochids (thankfully they have little or no thorns) and as a plus, I was able to stick my half seedlings on the back of my hand while I worked, stopping them from drying out while I cut the areoles full of glochids off for a few areole grafts.

I'm surprised I haven't seen it in any techs yet, you still have to watch out for thorns, but they're minimal in peres and most grafting stock.

I think grafting with leather gloves would be a LOT more difficult

I honestly hadn't considered these before but I'm about to start repotting for the upcoming Summer season and I think you  just saved me all kinds of annoyance.

Bare handed here, sometimes I'll use a cloths pin but I really need to upgrade to those mini hair-clips. I just brush the glochids out of my fingers after each graft. Now when I'm doing 100s of grafts per day, I may upgrade to cloves.
