Newb needs advice on lions mane on agar

This is my first time trying to grow lions mane on agar. I'm pretty sure all I've managed to grow are a bunch of contams, but since I dont really know what I'm looking at I'd love advice on if anything is salvageable or if I should just chuck the whole thing and start over.
I tried to use the Stamets method for cloning lions mane in a still air box. The one thing I did manage to do with tremendous success was get a bunch of condensation on the lid (hold your applause please) so apologies in advance for the poor image quality.
Any advice about how to start a good lions mane agar culture greatly appreciated.
Also, bc lions mane cultures start fruiting so fast, Stamets seems to recommend liquid culture from agar plates. I know liquid cultures are greatly frowned upon here. Is this just asking for trouble?
Thanks again for any help and advice you generously take the time to give.
Cheers,
Raf

Hi Raph! I'm no expert (I just posted a similar question for my plates) but these don't look pretty contaminated to me.
I can't really tell what the dark splotches are, but it looks like you had way too much liquid sloshing around in there as well. Wait for your agar to cool a bit more before you pour it and let the plates cool to room temperature before sealing with parafilm to minimize condensation.

LC is certainly not frowned upon and getting a clean LM culture on agar is the same as virtually any other species. Lions mane does want to pin quickly however, it will begin to fruit well before the plate grows out.
This question may be more appropriate in the gourmet forum, but plenty of people here are growing LM.

That plate is trash.
When you clone you wanna grab tissue from inside the fruit....it looks like you just tossed a bit of the fruit itself onto the plate which will be covered in bacteria...hence the contam.
Nothing wrong with a good LC
